http://www.thedailystar.n...latest_news.php?nid=29071Bhutan king praises Bangladesh's leadershipBhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck on Friday appreciated Bangladesh's political leadership saying the debate and discussion at the Jatiya Sangsad are qualitative and rich. "I witnessed the activities and debate at the JS yesterday and it seemed rich and qualitative enough," the Bhutanese king said when Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Abdul Hamid called on him at a hotel in the city. During the meeting, they discussed matters related to bilateral interest of the two countries, said a JS release. Strengthening the existing Dhaka-Thimpu relations and increasing communications among the parliamentarians of the two countries also came up for discussion.

he looks handsome MW, thanks for starting this thread But then I have a weekness for the crouching tiger-hidden dragon type man (clothing and everything) ..... I googled him and then saw this interesting bits Earlier this month, Thailand celebrated King Bhumibol's sixtieth anniversary. Royalty from other nations came to join the festivities, and the whole event received extensive, reverent coverage throughout the Thai media. By far the most popular royal guest was Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck, heir to the throne of Bhutan. Jigme has set hearts aflutter, and has become quite a pin-up. However, there is one photo of him that can't be distributed.

The most popular Thai web forum (pantip.com) and newspaper (Thai Rath) both printed the picture, showing Jigme and an un-named woman. Thai Rath captioned it "Crown Prince Jigme Girlfiend [sic.] From Bhutan paparazzi”. Yesterday, the police Department of Special Investigation imposed a ban on any further circulation of the image, though how they intend to enforce this remains unclear. It has been quietly removed from pantip.com's archives. http://blog.matthewhunt.c...-jigme-girlfiend-sic.html

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. He is 1) dreamy and 2) thoughtfully progressive. Also, he's very educated. I vaguely recall a story from when he first ascended to the throne about him going to Japan for a meeting of Asian leaders and the girls in Tokyo going crazy for him. To bad he can only marry a woman from Bhutan.

Thanks to Kasumi from TRF for the article http://noticias.terra.com...CM4000009bf154d0RCRD.htmlTranslation: The king of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, 31 years old the youngest of the world, is getting married next October but will not invite foreign royal families because he wants a "simple wedding."
This was explained to Efe by phone the press officer of the royal family of Bhutan, Dorji Wangchuck, who said that the bride is a student, Jetsun Pema, about to turn 21 years who was accompanying the King on his last trip.
The spokesman said that the wedding real so-called 'fifth dragon "of the Wangchuck dynasty will be held in October at a date yet to be specified, in the town of Punakha, the ancient capital of this remote Himalayan Buddhist nation.
The king, crowned in November 2008 after the abdication of his father, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, yesterday announced to Parliament his intention to marry.
"I met a person called Jetsun Pema.'s Young, warm, good heart and character. These qualities, along with the wisdom that comes with age and experience make her a great servant of the nation" said the Emperor.
"I ask the government not to plan a great celebration. The happiness of my dear father and the blessing of our people will give me joy and happiness," said the monarch, according to a translation of the speech sent to Efe by the Royal Family.
The official biography will become queen of Bhutan offers few details, apart from his lineage, his studies in India and the United Kingdom, and his taste for painting and basketball.
Wangchuck dynasty enjoys great prestige in Bhutan and is famous for having developed the concept of "Gross National Happiness", which rests on pillars such as the preservation of local customs, care for the environment, good governance and growth economic.
The mountainous and isolated kingdom has opted in recent years by a timid opening, but remains steadfast in its desire to avoid mass tourism and to preserve an identity shaped, compared to other minorities, about the traditions of the ethnic 'Drukpa' (dragon), of Tibetan origin who professes Mahayana Buddhism.
A pity, but somehow comprehensible! The way the BRF treated the foreign Royals at the wedding was embarrassing IMO.
