Engagement announced between Joachim & Marie

Wow!!! The gossip mags(Se Og Hør) were right after all.Though they guessed yesterday as the date of the announcement. 1 day´s difference is no big deal!

Mary is either pregnant(they all knew the engagement date ) or trying hard to be.Marie is taking up too much media att today!!Its even in the new right now.

Congrats Marie & Jokke.Looking forward to th engagement interview.

Ok, I just came from work  to this news!!!Turned on the TV 2 news and they are discussing the PR value of theis engagement for the royal house as well as how similar mary & marie are.
DR1 right now showing the CP couple in N.Y.C ,LOL.
There´s a press meeting on DR2  at 15.45 which I am going to watch and report here hahahaha.

I love a royal wedding  , I hope this one lasts, I think he is getting a better catch then she is. The jury is out on what she is like but I don't like they way she carries that dog around, it seems a bit pretentious , time will tell.
I am interested if she speaks any danish at the press conference and hopefully she will change out of the awful outfit she is wearing in that photo with the council of state with the black shoes

All royal weddings are fun events, however the betting on a)how long this one lasts and b) how long before Mary does something to distract from it and c) the odds on a M/F divorce will be more fun.

Touche, Jewel. That is exactly what was going on. We can look forward to more shots of Mary wearing ridiculous unsuitable clothes such as the polyester-look might-as-well-have-been-a-shortie-nightie thinggy she wore to that fashion show the other week, in a desperate attempt to compete ... how will she feel when Marie is right next to her for family photoshoots without spackfilla all over her skin?   

I was just thinking the same thing.  No wonder F&M are acting the sooo in-love couple, being flirtatious, etc.  They, specially Mary, need to compete with these two who are really in love and doesn't need to pretend.   Pretty obvious how Mary feels now that Marie is officially joining the DRF.

Name:What does she prefer to be called now that she will be living in DK:Marie(french) og danish Mari-e? Both are ok(the queen announced her as Marie(french)

First meeting:They  first met at a  private hunt in 2002
Language :Marie has not started learning Danish yet, but now that she ´s engaged, she will start as soon as possible.

Jokke proposed this summer when they were on holiday in Turkey.
He actually asked her her grand ma,mum and then dad for her hand.(in France the grand parents are also involved when a man asks for a woman´s hand in marriage explained Jokke)

Marie will move to Schackenborg when she gets married.

At the moment has no special interests in any causes /charities
Not yet chosen designer for dress,the wedding date is not yet set, it will definately be a private wedding, they dont know if it will be large or small.

Kids:Would like kids.Hopes she will be lucky enough to get kids.
Work: Will at first be house wife and then perhaps combine both.

Jokke is known as a party prince,what does she think about that?: She too loves parties.They will at times stay home as well as gofor partes

What does she think of Alex:I dont know her very well,but when I have meet her she has been extremely kind to me.

Living up to high expectations about being a princess:Hopes she can

What about Alexandra´s parents?: They are moving out, moving abroad.No pushing,they decided it was time to leave.

I'm not sure if they're the same as the British Privy Council, but Marie would be there to be introduced as the fiancee of the Prince, much like Diana was with the Privy council (In one of my books on Diana, I have a photo of her with Charles, HM and the council)

LOL I just wonder how long it will be before Marie wants to get away from the DRF and truly realizes what she's gotten into!!!!!!  Perhaps she & J will do better since it doesn't seem like J sees his parents much anyway -- at least not as much as M&F probably do.  I'm sure they don't contraol J as much as the rest.    

Now I understand why Flicker's getting so thin.  She has been SO stressed worrying about Marie joining the family!

I just pray that Marie doesn't become the shrinking new princess or oen with excessive makeup.  I hope she will still be able to maintain 'herself.'  If she doesn't change her weight or wear so much makeup, etc., I think that she will win people over and possibly people will really see how superficial Mosh can be.  Also, hopefully Marie doesn't put her nose up in the air. . .  I would think that Mosh is feeling the heat since now there will always be comparisons.  And at least now, I'm sure that all attention will be on Marie.  Wonder if the mags will ask her how she feels about Marie and her marrying J & becoming part of the DRF.  Would love to hear her response and the body language!

kittytart, the dog doesn't bother me since I love dogs and can see why people have their dogs with them.  I had a miniature poodle (I know, I know, but I do live on the Upper East Side!  Just a coincidence. . .) and I loved, if possible, to take my doggie with me.  It's kinda like people wanting to take their kids with them.  Okay, don't want anyone to start getting sick, but I 'm sure ya'll understand what I mean. . .  

Can you imagine when Marie gets pregnant???!!!!!!  She will have all of the attention, esp. if we see her with her kid more since we never she the 'real royal' children!  I also hope that she is more out and about meeting her 'subjects' than Mosh seems to be.   This is a great opportunity for Marie to really shine and set herself apart as a hardworking, committed and serious royal.  Hope she doesn't just be lazy.  Luckily, she does have Alex to help her, if need be.

Too  much fun ahead!  Hopefully Marie is doing well with her Danish.  Seems Mosh is going to have to do better at her job.  Yeah.

Translation: I dont want to admit that by watching Mary, I've learnt to keep my bra IN my shirt, step away from the skin bleach and to keep a can of "Bogan Off" in my purse at all times.

Jazzy I saw the interview too. You summarized  it very well.
For those who would love to know...Marie had on a white, chiffon, pleated skirt and a short white jacket. The pleated skirt made her seem more curvey than I think she is. She also had white stockings and black pumps. Very typical classic look, for those who like that sort of look.  Her engagement ring is has Ruby, Diamond, and Sapphire. Joachim said he chose it and Marie had no idea, it was a surprise. She also had on a Christian cross on a chain around her neck, and very small whitish earrings, maybe pearl...Joachim had a black suit, white shirt, greyish tie, and a white handkerchief in the upper pocket of the jacket... don´t know what it´s called..lapel?)

He also seemed to be the one in control even when some questions were directed at Marie. When she was asked what projects or interests she´ll take up, she said the first was to be Joachims wife.
