Ekstra bladet has a bit story today about a new book about the DRF. It's called '1015 København K' (the postal code for Amalienborg) and is written by Trine Villemann. It's published by Ekstra bladets publishing Wink It's main story is that the DRF is a disfunctional family behind the facade. In short - Margrethe is burned out, Henrik probably drinks a little bit too much, Frederik is lazy and ill-advised and should have been allowed to marry Katja because she was the best for him and his true soulmate. Joachim is the most royal, hardworking and overlooked. She knows the reason for the divorce but won't write it because of the boys. She says Alex is ambitious, sharp and always on the go - probably too big for Denmark. She brought more to the monarchy than Mary ever will. Joachim didn't want to divorce but Alex had something on him so in the end he gave in. Mary is very jealous of the former women is Frederiks life - she once started crying at a party because Fred was talking to Bettina. She also skipped the brunch the day efter because Bettina was there - not a sign of class as Trine says. A friend (of Freds?) says he's very lucky Mary wanted him though. Trine says Frederik is a lousy teacher for Mary who has stiffened as a rokokoprincess where it's impossible to the the person behind the princess. She says the idea of the princes not marrying Danes is oldfashioned and ridiculous because if they wanted to avoid the parents in law living around the corner - that's not exactly what they got Grin (very good point IMO). She feels the DRF is dying because of the oldfashioned way of doing this and the bad advice Frederik is gettting.

I can't help wondering how much time the author has spend on messageboards - or if we're simply good at spotting the obvious here

Marie had better read it fast before she signs up! It sounds fascinating. Was Fred actually forbidden to marry Katja? Which one was she- the underwear model?

She was the model Wink I didn't like her at the time but in hindsight it makes me sad he didn't marry her. He was so obviously very comfortable with her and they were together for quite a while - it's sad he didn't get to marry a woman he loved and who was good for him. Very sad when you think about it.. As for Marie I hope she knows what Alex has got on Joachim Secret Let's hope she's better suited for Joachim than Alex was. Obviously love is not always enough to stay married.

Yup, I guess it was a mix out of a "forceful Daisy advice" and age (Fred was pretty young then and most guys hesitate at that age) And probably Katja self didn´t want. Only a not-very-bright woman would be crazy enough to marry a crown prince, who is non-supportive, as he hates his role...

Some very kind Danish speaker is going to have to translate the best bits of the book for the Australians and French on the board who haven't got around to learning Danish!

can't wait, Jockk will have a problem again and so does Marg the old rumers would be up again and maybe new ones too
Could be that Marg knew about the book and as damgge controll hurry Jokk to marry Marie? a nice romentic glamorous royal wedding , just what the "slow" Danes need in order to forget about the rumers  Dead

That's possible, hanzo. Remember, it was only in August in Caix where Marge and Henry said Jokke and Marie were not getting engaged, just learning to know each other better. And PUFF, we have an engagement.

Please tell me this is going to be translated into English!  But even if it is, I doubt it'll ever make its way to the shelves of my local bookstore.  Unfortunately.  So I'm relying on you Danes to read it and post every scintillating chapter on RD.  Please!

I want this book.

I think it's obvious that Fred is lazy and has no interest in his job. Joachim should be at the helm.(Maybe Joachim was bi sexual and that's what she has on him)
