And here begins the anti mary campaign!!  Supercontent

From BB
http://www.billedbladet.d...kongetro%20mennesker.aspx

It all depends on the Crown Prince Frederik. The question is whether he will keep himself from talking about politics. As long as he can, it will be more legitimate to have a head of state who is not selected, says historian with the royal house as a specialty and letterbox-editor of Billed-Bladet, Jon Bloch Skipper

- Another big danger is that he lets himself be reduced to a celebrity. He must take care not to live a dissolute life and to maintain an aura of respect and that is royal title worthy, says Jon.

Well, well, well ... the media is tiring of Mary wanting to be a celebrity instead of a quietly respectable royal.  No surprise at all.  But she isn't going to make that adjustment quietly because Mary wants to be a celebrity more than anything else.   She believes that she is one.

Mary is immature and greedy, like a spiteful 17 year old who wants to have more than everyone else at college.  She had so little in her early life and it embittered her - she became greedy and ambitious for material things and now she has access to money through the DRF, she needs to flaunt what she buys.  Clothes, hairstyles, facial work, holidays, jewels - add a snobbish attitude and that's Mary.  Not very attractive at all.

And the DRF will be damaged by it.  Can you seriously imagine Fred and Mary as king and queen?   It's all doom for Denmark with that pair of twerps at the top.

Freddles and MeDiana at the throne will be a disaster unless a miracle happens Whistle. Both are not mature. Fred is pretty mental and Mosh thinks she is the icon celebrety of motherhood. If you compare them with the outher crownprinces couples you see a lack of substance. You can say whatever you want about Maxima or MM for example but I usualy don't have the feeling they see themselves as celebs.

It will be pretty intersting to see the future of the DRF and how Jokke will see his role, if his brother will be king. But perhaps Freddels gets so mental that he has to act as a regent for Xtian. Perhaps if his uncle will have a bigger influence then on his education he will make his way. But time will tell.

We are still slow. Politiken reported today that 77% of Danes support the monarchy. The highest percentage in Europe  Crap

It is a republican-leaning paper, but they do objective reporting and sometimes have positive - though rarely sugary - coverage of the DRF.

They did not carry out the poll. It was done by a Megaphone, a serious and objective polling company. Interestingly, the DRF hit a high note at the beginning of the 00's when Joachim and Alexandra had Nikolaj. Since then it has been heading south, but still remains at a high level of popularity, especially compared to other countries.

Thanks Thrilla  Smiley  Star

So to be popular you have to celebrate lavish dinners, galas, offend your own people and have a lazy Crown Prince couple?
Wow, the Danes are really generous, other nations would kill their RF´s. Blink

I've just about given up. It seems no matter what they do, the majority will accept them. It really does say a lot about us - not much of it positive  No

The queen´s new years speech is seen by everybody, and I mean everybody here. She delivers it at six pm, and that marks the beginning of new years eve all over. People really listen to what she says, discuss it over the new years dinner table. This is a huge tradition here and ranks almost as high as X-mas eve.
It will be interesting (ahem) when it is Derfie´s turn. He can´t put two sentences together without getting into an unintelligible labyrinth of words... What will the Danes think then?

Surely he'll have speech writers and teleprompter etc. He can't wing it but can he "read" a speech?
