My guess is that they booed her either because of her father's less than illustrious history in Argentina, or because she held up the performance to make a grand entrance (or a big deal was made out of her presence at the event).

By jove, I think you've got it! That makes sense to me, pixiecat. I don't think we can blame Max for making a grand entrance, though. Usually it's the guys in charge who want to show off their famous "get" for the night. |

Meh, I can't summon any sympathy for Maxima. I don't care for her all that much and most likely she deserved it. Her ginormous ego could stand to be knocked down a peg or two.

I read in the comments of a blog entry that Maxima was late and she came in with photographers in mass, disturbing the whole audience... The orchestra had literally to wait for this racket to stop before starting the concert. People got mad and booed her... If that's true, I'm PROUD.  |
