So many of them are beautiful. Gone are the days when the royal bride was from a noble and inbred ugly looking family with long crooked noses atop a goofy crooked smile. Duchess Catherine is lovely looking and all natural as is Mette-Marit of Norway and Madeleine of Sweden. Letizzia of Spain and Charlene of Monaco are quite pretty but have had some help and Rania of Jordan did too. Mary of Denmark is Ok. I think that Maxima may have been chosen because she is so lively and accommodating to the press.

Did Princess Grace have the tip of her nose done? I had never heard that before. On cotilleando posters are debating if this is true.

Sorry swanlake, I have to disagree. IMO all the "commoners" are FUGLY and the aristo - Mathilde the most beautiful.

I think Max shows most personality of all of them. Leti: Very professional and most of the time smartly dressed, but always a bit distant and cool Kate: Always smartly dressed but no really personality visible, a quiet young woman MM: At time okay, at times she seems a bit under the weather Vic: She is lovely and has a nice personality, but not the best style or looks Mary: Too focussed on the camera and on outer experience, not really herself ...

IMO, Mathilde is the most beautiful of all the CP's. Letizia comes in second. She's not horrible looking but I always thought Mette Marit was the least attractive of the CP's. The same thing goes for Victoria. Maxima, Mary, Kate and Stephanie are pretty but plain looking IMO.

I agree that Mathilde is beautiful and I also think that she photographs very sincerely.. I would not call any of the European princesses ugly - they are all pretty enough. The Crown Princesses are reaching middle age now so have had their glory days really. Maxima does light up and show personality and expression with the camera and so I can see how she would be regarded as the most photogenic. Other very photogenic princesses on my list are: Charlotte and Pauline of Monaco Eugenie of Britain Alexandra of Luxembourg Soon the next generation will come up and shine - watch for Elisabeth. I don't think that Grace had the tip of her nose done - the work would have been way too risky back then and that photo shows every part of her face in long dark shadows, look at her huge bottom lip - it's the strong and angled lighting.

I think the daughters of the current crop of crown princesses are/will be even more beautiful. And one of the reasons for this is the genetic diversity these former commoners are bringing to the various royal lines. Such genetic anomalies as the Habspuorg chin show the down side of choosing only the qualified brides under the terms of the Almanach de Gotha.

ITA though I'm sure Queen Mary's Teck and those stubborn Windsor genes will surface in one of William and Kate's kids.
