thanks for the info Pepa. quite telling that the norwegian court felt compelled to comment on it.

since MM had to attend at all costs, she should have worn a norwegian designer, that's producing in norway for a norwegian label.

much better would have been to abstain from attending that gala. it's not an appropriate place for a future queen.

Tell me about it; I am sure that Norway is loaded with designers begging to dress her, to make her something nice and go figure, the woman decides to wear Valentino, on loan. She has no business wearing foreign labels; if the taxpayers are supporting her for life, she had better make a return on the investment.

Such a pity that bedroom gymnastics isn't an Olympic event; Kate would have been a gold medalist of several years standing.

"If there's a bright side to this, it's that the royal court confirmed that this dress was only on loan from Valentino for the night and was not purchased (an unusual confirmation, seemlingly made in light of the fact that the frock costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $17,000), so we'll only see it once."

That Nellie Olson dress seriously cost $17,000!!!!  Yikes Man, rich people are suckers. As long as it has a fancy lable on it I guess it doesn't matter that its fugly and makes her look 19 months pregnant. I like MM but she's pushing it with the frivilous high society events.

I'm more happy that we'll only see her wearing it once!!!!! She looked hideous and her wardrobe choices never cease to amaze me.

I am going to come out an say it. I don't have a problem with Mette-Marit wearing Valentino to the Costume Institute Gala. She was there in a private capacity, it wasn't an official event where she was representing Norway. And the dressed was borrowed. However, the dress she wore, was seriousley fugly. It did nothing for her. I doubt, that the dress she wore, would look good on anyone.

17 grand for something Ma Ingalls would have sewn up for Nellie in exchange for money to buy a good milking cow?  Dang!

After dropping out last year with only her thesis left due to lack of time and taking a month to travel through India, hike and do a cleansing in Austria because she was so sad she had to leave her studies  Cry MM turned in her thesis on Monday. Congratulations MM, if it's approved you'll get your first diploma in 10 years of studying since becoming CPss  Champagne

MM seems to be doing her own thing these days.  I'm really shocked that she was not at Estelle's christening.
