What's with her English?! That is not normal.
It's like the english people speak in my office (I'm Austrian) when they want to come across uber-important and accomplished.

Is that Australian English? Really?

And she adds extra "air" to many words at the end or in the middle or wherever.

English may be her mother tongue but Mary is inarticulate and probably always will be.

For anyone who would like to see a car crash in public speaking Mary starts around 3.35 (Thanks BW for the video)

Ok, I'll give credit where credit is due. She actually looks pretty in this picture. The fit of the top isn't great and the skirt is fugly but from the shoulders up the old girl looks pretty good. Its amazing what pulling her hair off her face and adding a bit of volume will do, she looks her age instead of 10 to 15 years older. Its time for her to get a haircut because the long Kate hair isn't doing any favors.

I agree that Mary looks great above the waist here, Snow Queen. Star
I really love the top and the hair.
Pairing the top with a skirt that competes in activity and colour with the gleam of the top is, to me, a huge fail though.  I'd have preferred the top with a skirt of the same fabric or with a skirt in a plain darker matte colour.
Could the dark red clutch be borrowed from Marie?  It's very like the one that Marie had at the twins' Christening.
Tanja's top was tops.

I listened to Mary's speech and I thought that she spoke very clearly, apart from stupidly using the same vocabulary at bit too much. I had no problem with her accent.  What she had to say was important; the topic of the Fashion Industry Summit is a really pertinent one.
I liked hearing the male co-presenter.  He was the easiest to listen to.  Thumb up
The female co-presenter, I could not understand as well Huh?, though I adored her outfit.  I don't know why she spoke on the very same topic right before Mary was introduced. Mary had obviously also been asked to speak about the main focus of the Fashion Summit.??
Some very useful and worthwhile discussion might come out of this Fashion Summit.  It sounds interesting.
I wonder who are the members of the Nordic Fashion Association.  Mary spoke as if they were partners in holding the Summit. Could they be Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland or would they be certain fashion houses or textile manufacturers from the Nordic region??

Oh, Barf! There's a part where she's asked about Danish fashion, and she responds as if she's an authority on the subject though she isn't wearing a single piece of Danish anything. And we know she rarely wears Danish. Ever.

She should wear more Danish fashion, and there are some good brands; but at Izzy´s baptism she wore a Danish dress - it was horribly badly sown!  Yikes

Who designed it? I always thought it was designed by the same designer who designed the pink fluffy dress she wore at Frederiks and recently at maxima's birthday!? He was some guy from some country in eastern Europe!? Or did he just design the birthday gown?

There were rumours that Mary would wear a dress from a Lithuanian designer to Izzy`s christening.

From DRW:

"According to a Lithuanian article here (thanks Jisma!) Crown Princess Mary's christening outfit will be a design by Lithuanian designer Juozo Statkevičiaus. In May Juozo Statkevičiaus was invited to Denmark to show Mary his work and do fittings for a few outfits. She had the little princess with her in a carrier during the meeting which he said was a very good designer-client meeting. Mary had remembered him from a fur exhibition in Copenhagen last year and he had given her a copy of his book at the time. This is also now reported by TV2."

IIRC, there was some criticism that Mary would wear a non-danish designer. In the end, the dress she wore was by Birgit Hallsten:

"The speculation Mary would wear a Lithuanian designer did not come to pass - she wore a dress by Danish designer Birgit Hallsten, according to TV2's commentary. Birgit Hallsten had worked on the Uffe Frank designed wedding dress for Mary." (source: DRW)

I didn`t like the dress at all. The material looked very cheap and badly sewn. Especially from the back  Crazy

Excellent memory, Hermione!  Star Good to see you Smiley

IMO Mary was going to wear the dress by the Lithuanian dress and because of the criticism/Margrethe put her foot down (?) ended up wearing the Danish dress. Looking at how badly sewn it was it's pretty obvious that it had been put together very quickly and at short notice suggesting it was a last resort.

Her Christening dress looked like a bad Project Runway entry.

I just watched the video and the silly twat has matched her dress and the yellow belt to the stage-set tree with a yellow fruit (or bird?), that is beside the lectern where she makes her speech  She spoke rubbish ...  nonsensical pretentious rubbish.

I am seriously tired of 'organically themed' unsustainable promises coming from the mouths of those who wish to be in the limelight.  There are many players in the western world who are talking this idiocy, but who live by opposite values.  Mary is one.

I view Mary as an opportunistic consumer with no demonstration of self-restraint.  A woman who is obsessed with her own self but has no idea who she wishes to be; and who, like many rich men's wives, loses her self-respect by frantically over-spending their money.

She is the world's least relevant fashion player.

Even the CNN microphone matches her dress...

P.S.  Star Hermoine, for the explanation about hte dress from Iz´s baptism.

What'll always strike me when I hear Mares speak is that her voice is actually very very pleasant.
I didn't mind that H&M dress, it is quite pretty (not that I would pair it with the accessories she chose, but that is Mare to you)
What she had to say was irrelevant as anybody attending the function was much more knowledgable than Her royal wisdom.
Her intonation was very strange I think. Not so much the accent, but the melody.
Seriously I found myself waiting for the announcement that "the train to Gliffentrop with stops at Little Middlebleh and South Haddleblah was arriving shortly at platform @"
The other attire was a classic Mary. The top was quite interesting, the skirt as well; together it was a disaster. However I remember that she wore this skirt once before and matched it horridly as well. I  saw it myself at H&M and can tell you the skirt really is pretty, but you can't combine it with any colour.
Black looks bad, because it is actually a mix of greys and black and shine and a solid black top looks extremely harsh. The purple-ish red is impossible as well (plus you can't wear an entire top in that colour!!!): the store matched it with a yellowish-ivory (as in the flowers) and that looked best, though the drama of the skirt is lost with a light coloured top.
One of that fabrics that look good on the bale but will give a a headache.

Check out the article

http://www.blueandgreento...inable-future-of-fashion/

Speaking at the summit held in the Danish Opera House, H&M’s head of sustainability Helen Helmersson described the company’s work with Genetex, which owns the laundry symbols found on labels, to address the need to tell their customers to wash at lower temperatures

So basically princess mary attended this event basically on how to tell us on how to wash our clothes and to lower our comsumption in washing our clothes in hot water. And how the industry will need to produce new washing products for washing our clothes.  Shocked

I would love to hear what you people think if mary is really helping at all at a very serious bussiness like event this wasn't a fluff event for sameone as inexperinced as mary to attend and provide her voice to considering the comments she made at it in her speech.
