I wouldn't mind having Mary's wardrobe. Most of the pieces are nice but   I would absolutely style them differently. I'm constantly amazed at how she can ruin such lovely pieces by mixing them with items that don't go together. The bones of her wardrobe are excellent but Mary doesn't have a personal style so it always looks like she's playing dress-up in someone elses closet and gets it wrong nearly every time.

I am going to ask two hypothetical questions here ... and everyone feel free to disagree with my own answers..

Does having a wardrobe of personally selected clothes that you feel are 'you' and that you wear many times, contribute to your healthy sense of self and who you are?  
(My answer - yes, very much so)

Would wearing an unlimited number of clothes in widely differing styles and ambiences (e.g. boho, ivy league, sloane, BCBG, hippy, rock star, girly) destabilise who you are 'today' and contribute to an inner uncertainty, or would you feel rich and important and better than other women?  
(My answer - it would destabilise me.  I like to know myself. My clothes express who I am and I need to stay with that self-perception.)

And the answer to the thread's question: Would I dress like her?
Well I would love to have her closet, about 50% is really really fab and certainly more than enough to fill my humble wardrobe. The rest can go to charity.
Would I use the pieces like Mary did? Well her mixing and matching is horrible at best and she has a completely different way of accessorizing (unlike anybody I know...) but the pieces, suits, coats and such are great.
Funny, how Aussiecro describes some of the outfits that I considered best as boring or bland.  But perhaps the more conservative business approach speaks more to hhm more mature people
(dear Aussie, of course I don't accuse you of being immature, I am just desperately trying to avoid the dreadful "old")
