The royal couple, Crown prince couple, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte are present on 19 June at Fredensborg Castle.
Denmark has a long tradition in the voluntary sector and volunteering and the voluntary sector have historically helped to develop the Danish society.
Almost every other adult Dane is engaged in some form of volunteering. This dynamism is in all areas of life: in sports, culture, housing and community, scouting, humanitarian and church organizations and social and health just to mention some of the most important.
"The Royal Couple wants to acknowledge that so many Danes make a voluntary effort for the benefit of Danish society. Therefore they invite representatives from the "The Volunteer Denmark" to attend a gardenparty at Fredensborg. Among the invitees will be two representatives appointed by each municipality to have made a special effort. In addition, representatives will also participate in numerous volunteer organizations and associations and cultural figures, which provide a voluntary effort, "said Lord Chamberlain Ove Ullerup. Is that a tradition, or is that the first time they do it? Sounds a bit like copying QEII, doesn't it?

Bravo almost every other Dane! Bravo for your generous volunteering. You social heroes deserve a Garden Party in your honour.

Are they hoping that by holding a QEII style garden party around the time of the Jubilee celebrations they'll pick up some press?

Fredensborg: Many volunteers experience a garden party at Fredensborg Palace, 19 from June at 15.30 to 18.00.
The Royal Couple wants to acknowledge that so many Danes make a voluntary effort for the benefit of Danish society. Therefore invite representatives from the Royal Couple "The Volunteer Denmark" to have the party at Fredensborg. That's what bugs me, it's not really the "little people", that put all the work into volunteering and working with whoever it is that needs help. It's the representative (heads) of the volunteer organisation that are invited to the gaaaarden paarty, and mingle with the DRF

If you're going to try and imitate the BRF at least get it right, Margrethe.

The garden is beautiful but when I see this picture I can't help but wonder how many times Fred has gotten drunk and fallen in that little moat.

Those pearls M has on in the photo look like additional chins. Kinda like a thin Jabba the Hut.
