Karolin A. Johansson will replace Jörgen Lindström as the Marshal of the Court of HRH the Crown Princess’s Household on May 1. The household consists of the Marshal of the Court and a secretary. As Marshal of the Court, she will be responsible for planning, preparing and implementing Victoria and Daniel’s program.

Karolin A. Johansson has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in journalism. She has worked as a consultant, editorial writer, and press secretary of the Ministries of Employment, Social Affairs, and Culture.

She did not seek out the position, but was recently contacted by the court.

“I have met them a few times and am very impressed with their work. I have worked with the press and media on behalf of cabinet ministers for several years so it feels natural.”

Interesting article about Ingemar Carlsson, director of the Bernadotte Archives.

http://hn.se/livetsgang/1...-jobba-tills-han-ar-80-ar

An excerpt:

The Bernadotte Archives are housed in Ulriksdal Palace and consist of 400 meters of the house of Bernadotte’s private documents. Anyone wishing to look for information in the archive must make a written application, which is first handled by Ingemar Carlsson. He makes a comment, and after a few more exchanges, presents the matter to the king, who makes the final decision.

“The king is very generous and usually grants permission in most cases. 95 percent of everything in the archives is public and he only withholds documents relating to private lives. Otherwise, the king has a very positive attitude to the archives and he also has the good quality that when he makes a decision, he stands by it. He knows what is allowed and does not waver as some managers do,” says Ingemar Carlsson.

He is probably correct about CG’s stubbornness - which isn’t a good thing IMO. Crap But opening the archives is the right thing to do. Thumb up What's in the 5% which is still secret? Secret

Last month, the court published an article about the king's role in the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs. They should do more of this type of article IMO Thumb up

Excerpt:

The council is a consultation group between the Riksdag and the cabinet, presided over by the king. The council consists of a Speaker and nine other members from the Riksdag, together with nine deputies.

The Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs is convened by the cabinet. According to the Swedish Constitution, "The cabinet shall keep the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs continuously informed of those matters relating to foreign relations which may be of significance for the Realm, and shall confer with the council concerning these matters as necessary."

The crown princess is also a member of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs.

The Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs in the Swedish Constitution:

§11 The cabinet shall keep the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs continuously informed of those matters relating to foreign relations which may be of significance for the Realm, and shall confer with the council concerning these matters as necessary. In all foreign policy matters of major significance, the cabinet shall confer with the council, if possible, before making its decision.
