Mette Hansen is a nurse and gospel singer, and Mary chose her as a nanny to Prince Christian, while Josephine was employed at the National Hospital pediatric ward. Mette is no longer the royal nanny, but maintains contact with the royal couple and their children.

O/T but I think Christian must have been quite the sickly baby since they chose a nurse to look after him Confused All the other royal nannies have been young girls - more traditional nannies - and here we have a nurce trained in pediatric care Huh?

Remember his jaundice, Maria. He was yellow like squash, and they had to bring him back to the hospital after the official photo shoot at home. Perhaps, he really wasn't well, and they wanted to make sure he gets a professional person around him - just in case  Nerves

Yes But I wonder if he was sickly for a longer time since they kept her as their nanny after the infant-time was over Confused

yup, I meant that as well, sorry for not pointing that out more clearly...I just thought that either his jaundice was a trigger for something more serious, or it was something more serious alltogether.

I don't think Mares want's any Danes to be her friends, unless she gets something out of it! Secret
Plum

Most of Fred's friends are from the upper class. Mary is bogan. I don't think she mixes well with the upper class whether they're Danish or Aussie. So I doubt any of Fred's friends are truly friends with her. Trouble is Mary is too busy trying to keep up appearances of being high and mighty to ever become friends with ordinary people she might have more in common with - like the help who she spends A LOT of time with or the mothers of her children's school mates. (No, Mary isn't pals with Mette, the nurse, or Anja, her stylist). She is isolating herself by choice.

It seems to me that once a commoner marries a prince, the new princess does not have much in common with any of her old circle of family and friends.  This puts the new princess in a unique situation.  She is not "on of them" (royals) and is no longer a commoner. It would take quite a strong personality and character to adjust and succeed.

Or is it that there are some "commoner princesses" who are the type who befriend those who can advance their objectives?  I find it hard to believe someone who is a "true friend"  would lose that friendship just because they marry or take a different job.  Especially when that job allows you to make your own schedule.  As an example, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother had lots of friends before she married and kept them after she married and after she became queen, although she did not discuss royal matters with them.  It was a way she could stay balanced in the world of royal protocol.  Mary strikes me as the type of person who will befriend you if she wants something from you, then dump you if you have nothing to offer.  A classic narcissist.

Maxima and Leti are still friends with their pre-wedding friends. Leti meets her friends for lunch, to go to concerts. She attends their weddings.

Yup  ...  that's Mary.  Star for your observation.  She's profoundly narcissistic with no interests or passions whatsoever.  Utterly fascinated by her own self.  A dull woman.
