The hectic schedule serves several issues:
a) Mary is seen as almost a work-a-holic with her tireless schedule  Yes
b) the minimal time she can spend with people ensures that neither the guests get bored nor completely confused by her incomprehensable babble, or worse
c) anyone could ask detailed questions or take a closer look.
d) the more different events the more different outfits for the events, the bigger the budget she received for her wardrobe....

here is the work that the mary foundation is doind about combating bullying and about educating children about it

H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary visits Greenland in June and marks a milestone in the efforts to combat bullying

Anti-bullying program Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying is now out in all of Greenland. Henceforth, the Greenlandic children in both kindergarten and primary school work hard to create healthy children communities where safety, tolerance, respect, compassion and courage are the principal values. The 4th-7th June Crown Princess visits Greenland, together with Save the Children and the LEGO Foundation to mark the joint efforts against bullying.

Henceforth, Greenlandic children aged 3-8 years will be talking about when to tease for real and for fun, what a good friend is and why it sometimes requires courage to be a good friend. Anti-bullying program Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying is now implemented in all municipalities in Greenland in order to prevent bullying and promote wellbeing in kindergartens and schools. The program is considered by the Greenland government as an important part of Greenland's efforts to improve children's lives.

"A key part of working with the Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying programme has been to create relevance and ownership in Greenland. Therefore the development and rollout also done in a very close collaboration with the steering committee in Greenland. We are proud and happy that we have managed to spread Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying in Greenland. Now we look forward to getting up and check that the Greenlandic children have access to specific tools to prevent bullying and create healthy children communities, "says Helle Østergaard, director of the Mary Foundation.
Chairman of the Mary Foundation Princess Mary will during his visit to Greenland to visit include a kindergarten in Saqqaq and a school in Ilulissat - both places have experience working with Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying.

The Mary Foundation, the LEGO Foundation, Save the Children, the municipalities, and KANUKOKA Naalakkersuisut have collaborated on the realization of Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying in two packages, respectively for kindergartens and schools with educational material, adapted to Greenlandic culture, tradition, and especially language. During its making the Mary Foundation, Save the Children and the LEGO Foundation provided funds, resources and experience available in close cooperation with Greenland professionals.

The Mary Foundation and Save the Children launched the Freedom from Bullying in Denmark in 2007, and the program has since been a part of the prevention of bullying in Danish kindergartens and schools. Evaluations show that 90% of the educators and teachers experience a positive difference among the children in the use of the program.

Facts about Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying

Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying is the result of a groundbreaking and comprehensive cooperation between the Mary Foundation, Save the Children and public institutions in Greenland. The Greenlandic shipping company Royal Arctic Line has supported with free transport of materials and LEGO Foundation has enabled the project by contributing as an economic partner in the project.

Cooperation on anti-bullying program began in 2009 when the Greenland authorities (Department, municipalities and KANUKOKA) demand actual tools - and found interest in the Mary Foundation and Save the Children anti-bullying program Free of Bullying.

Kammagiitta - Free of Bullying has been adapted to Greenlandic structure, culture and language and tested by eight Greenlandic institutions.

Anti-bullying program is during the last year extended to kindergartens and schools across Greenland.

The project builds on the values: Safety, tolerance, respect, compassion and courage.

Facts about Free of Bullying

Free of Bullying is developed on the initiative of the Chairman of the Mary Foundation
H.K.H. Crown Princess Mary, inspired by the Better Buddies program from the Australian organization The Alannah and Madeline Foundation and, along with Save the Children launched in Denmark in 2007.

Research and experience show that the sooner you educate against bullying, the less will be both personal and societal consequences. Therefore, courts Free of Bullying against the 3-8-year-old children in kindergartens and schools.

In Denmark, or more than 100,000 children were involved in the Freedom from Bullying programme used in more than 1,300 kindergartens and 480 schools and SFOs.

In June 2011, an analysis conducted by McKinsey and Wilke, found that 90% of those surveyed educators and teachers feel that Free of Bullying makes a positive difference for children, and 98% of the educators and teachers will recommend Free of Bullying to others.

It's about the same as her DC trip, listed as 4 days, but actually 2 days. The other 2 days were sightseeing and shopping with her lady-in-waiting. At least this time she spends her foundation money in Denmark.

A 4 day visit with 2 days of work. The flight from Copenhagen to Nuuk is approximately 2 hours so people cannot use that as an excuse.

The DRF has taken padding out schedules to a whole new level.

Actually the flight is more than 4 hours, still, I can't see how the jouney itself counts as a day in the visit. Usually the DRF doesn't include the day of travelling in the program.

I checked on the Greenland Air website and they said 2?!  Thinking

Edited to add: I don't think I factored in any time differences.
