Well she hadn’t done do any good in her quest for a rich husband until she met Fred, so my guess is she’d still be hunting.

Mary wanted to marry money but I don't think she would have done.
Look at the state of her when she met Fred. She was dumpy, had a terrible wardrobe with greasy looking hair and skin, which probably resulted from her diet. Her career was going nowhere and she seemed to be wanting to live a life that was way beyond her means.
If she hadn't married Fred she would have been a desperate 40-something who you see hitting on men in bars far too young for her.
IMO.

So she would have been Amber. With brown hair and a less likeable personality.

I still think Mary was hellbent on getting hitched to some sort of money and I'm sure she would have weazled her way into something. I don't think her lack of style and grooming would have been a complete obstacle afterall not all well-to-do men have supermodel wives (although I guess most do). I tend to think she still would have kept working with her kids in full-time childcare but I think she would have continued to job-hop on her quest to score those elusive top-level jobs which I think were probably in reality beyond her.

I agree. She didn't live in a wealthy part of the city, and her attempts at joining the horsey set didn't go down well. She didn't have the social skills or financial clout to penetrate Sydney's upper class, so to speak. And her move to the UK lasted just a couple of months, so British men clearly were not interested or she would have stayed longer.

If Mary hadn´t met Fred, she would be making some other man´s life miserable - probably i´n Sydney. All men out there, you can thank Derf for saving you.

OMG...I've seen it, and there's not enough bleach in the world to undo the damage to my eyes and brain after seeing that redneck-hell that is the world of Honey Boo Boo I could totally see her pushing her daughters into pageants.
