Yes, let IKEA pay...and to save money we can all assemble our own chairs/hotelbeds etc

A new sport could be included for those games - Flat Pack Furniture Assembly.
Scores would take both the overall time AND the difficulty of the piece chosen into account.

I could become an athlete then Thumb up

(More than half of my furniture is from IKEA ha ha ha)

"She isn´t wearing ANYTHING", said a young child

The empress shuddered, for she knew that they were right, but she thought, "The procession must go on!" She carried herself even more proudly, and the chamberlains walked along behind carrying the train that wasn't there.

Well this might be a really stupid idea and I won’t take it personally if other members knock it. Blush But I wouldn't mind seeing Greece as the home of the summer Olympics, after all that's where it all started. Other countries who send teams to compete could assist with cash to keep the venues up to date etc..

Security could be honed to the hilt with help from various countries. Would take away all the scandal of alleged bribes etc. from the IOC Blush, not to mention the zillions spent on putting various countries up for their day in the sun which is money down the drain if they don’t get the gong, so to speak. Cry Perhaps a different country could be featured every 4 years thus upping their chance of getting tourists to their shores. Banana

That won't happen, Greece is totally bankrupt and won't get any money for Olympic Games. They can be really grateful if they still  have the Euro by the end of this year, I guess.

The Montreal Olympics (1968) are still not paid off.

(I remember that from a Royal standpoint, as Grace of Monaco miscarried her last child in Montreal the year before the Games.)

I think Floppy´s main goal is to have the Olympics in the Nordic countries, Most people think we are too small for such a large event. Besides, there are considerable distances between the capitals.
Norway held the winter Olympics twice (1952 & 1994 IIRC), are the summers Olympics that much of a larger event? I'm not sure exactly how many events either have.

The Winter and Summer Olympic Games host 15 and 26 sports (with their numerous events) respectively.

Same here!
I'd love to see St. Petersburg hosting the summer olympics. Nobody does things like the Russians.

You are correct, Ugly Betty!  My personal memory of those year is a bit fuzzy due to my yute.  I was visiting Montreal (within the last 7 years) and went on a tour that discussed the Olympics, and remember my shock at the guide saying that the Montreal Olympics were still in debt.  Star in 24
