Along with many other royals, the Wessex's were also skiing last week.  They go to St Mortiz in Switzerland every year during their school half term.

Obviously their body guards go with them (the guy in the green outfit is one of their bodyguards) but do they pay for their flights etc.?

The Earl and Countess of Wessex held a dinner Windsor Castle to thank those who helped the @DofE Awards in their Diamond Anniversary year.

Wow, they look so happy and normal. Charles would be crazy to put  them aside when he becomes King.

Well there might not be use for them with the Commonwealth like Canada, New Zealand, Australia all saying they will drop the monarchy when the Queen dies.

Of course I may be wrong, however I do not think he will.   Thinking  My thought was that none will be added as the older generation retires.
Albeit I presume Harry's future wife will have a role.

How sweet!!

How is it that Edward at 39 (the age he was when this picture was taken) had more hair than his nephew has now at 34 (in less than three months, 35)?   Thinking  Spiteful

They really seem like a wonderful little family. I think as long as Edward will have the Duke of Edinburgh title he will have a strong public profile. He might become like the Kent or Gloucester cousins off to the side doing his own thing while his brother is king. At least I hope.

The photo is really sweet. It's from the same photo shoot as this one taken by Andrew:

There's also a really lovely one of Sophie holding her. I kind of wish they had done the same thing with James.
