Author Barbara Taylor Bradford has put some absolutely gorgeous jewelry up for sale (ignore the cheesy headline):

http://www.dailymail.co.u...bara-Taylor-Bradford.html

I'd love to see the green tourmaline & diamond necklace on Leti, the grey pearls on Sonja or Bene, the coral and diamonds on Vikkan or ML, the mammoth diamond ring on Marie (Yrma would go batsh*t crazy with envy), the antique sapphire brooch on Silvia, and the sapphire ring on...ME Drool Drool Drool

stunning! S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G!! did I mention stunning OMG

Earlier this week, Sotheby's held an auction of "Magnificent Jewels", which raised a rather magnificent $60.5 million. Not to be outdone Christie's, in New York, held a jewelry auction the following day, amassing $65.8 million in sales -- with one diamond ring alone selling for $10.9 million.

Many of these jewels were formerly in the possession of members of royalty, the aristocracy, high society and the stars of the screen.

Given the tragic association, I doubt either of them would touch it!

^ See, that's what I just don't get. She died but why would that stop anyone from wearing the jewellery. I don't think there is such thing as bad karma or bad luck associated with items. If people could not wear things someone who died had worn, then there would be a lot of stuff to throw away.

I do hope someone who wears it in public will buy it.

Oh, I don't mean it in that sense, I don't ascribe any kind of bad karma to it.  I just think, considering the fact she wore it to the ballet, where she met Al Fayed, who invited her to France, etc etc..... plus it was something she designed for herself and never got to collect (if you read the article, she returned the necklace as the earrings weren't finished.... she never picked up the finished set), there are a lot of sad and tragic memories there for either Wills or Harry to buy it.

I also don't think they can really afford to splash out that amount of cash on jewellery..... just not the done thing anymore
