My kids and I are having a Harry Potter readathon. We are all reading the whole series ( re-reading in my case.) When each of us has finished a book, we sit and watch the movie together. It is a fun project although I can see a bottleneck coming up with Half Blood Prince as we only have one copy.

My great-niece just got the whole Harry Potter collection for Christmas so I have a good excuse to go back and re-read them so we can have our own mini book club.

I would like to recommend One Day by David Nicholls. Its about a couple meeting on the last day at university. It's a unique bittersweet lovestory. Won't tell too much... Just read it. I love this book.

Anyone read the "50 Shades of Grey" triology? My friends are obsessed with the series and I was informed that I absolutely must read them as soon as possible. Downloaded the first one but haven't had a chance to tackle it yet.

just finished the steve jobs bio and it was a page turner. I love any kind of book that makes me want to continue. Otherwise, I end up starting so many and just leaving them. I finished the book about the guy who started Zappos.com, an Asian. Delivering Happiness, I think it is called. Loved it. And loved his way of doing business.

The book by Suzy Welch, the one who stole Neutron Jack from his first wife....well, dont waste your money. Boring, boring, boring. 10-10-10. I must have been desperately bored when I bought. You have to understand that where I live (Middle East) buying books is unlike any other activity in a normal place.....Not so much to chose from...Alas. At least I got the Steve Jobs book!!!

I've read it's Twilight fanfic so if you liked that series you may like the adult version.

I hadn't heard it was Twiligt fanfic. I'm only about 40 pages into it but so far everyone is human. I can see the resemblance between the relationship tho, powerful elusive gorgeous man attracted to innocent plain Jane. It's not a literary masterpiece that's for sure. So far the author has used the words "flushed" or "blushing" for what seems like the millionth time.  Huh?

That's what I thought, too, Cara. I'm glad I read it, tho. I wasnt a fan. Now at least I know what Im talking about and it gives great insight into how the Apple products are designed and made. It was educational and well-written.

I'm presently reading "That Woman" by Anne Sebba, the new biography of Wallis Simpson.  So far it appears to be simply a new recounting of old stories, but I'll let you know if I run across anything new and juicy.

Everyone stays human, it can't be too similar or Twilight's lawyers would have never allowed it.

actually i wasn't making any value judgment on the book. there are just many other books i am interested in reading so this one is likely not going to make it on my book list any time soon.

I loved it when I read it. So much of what happens rings true IMO. It's such a shame that they rushed into making a film so soon as they got the cast very wrong.

I read "The Forty Rule of Love" by Elif Shafak while away. The bulk of the book concentrates on Rumi and his relationship with Shams of Tabriz and it raises some interesting questions about God, love etc. As someone who is intereste in Sufism I was hooked.
