Here are some vintage ball gowns Varela can get some ideas from:

Wow  These two in particular are my favorites  Blush
Vavavoom for the first one and timeless elegance for the second gown !

But, but if Letizia wears red, what should Kate wear? I mean, it is so confusing. Confused

Is William and Kate actually going?

I love these two as well. I would have removed a couple details from the first gown, e.g. the small bow at the waist and the bling on the skirt. But I love the irregular pleats on the skirt and its volume.

The 2nd one is a 1950s gown. It's very simple but I love the bodice. I think it would be a great neckline for Letizia. And because it's simple, it can showcase the jewels...

The first one has too many ruffles for my taste.    However, the second one - yes I could.  Thank you.

Another ball gown:

I'm not fond of the blue butterflies but the layered tulle skirt is gorgeous.

I hope the state visit finally runs well - there's a lot of tension between Spain and UK's government regarding Gibraltar and the Brexit negotiations...

I was wondering if it will go ahead; I just can't see that going over well here in the UK at the moment, although I don't know how much they'd take public opinion into account.

That is extremely annoying as I was looking forward to this visit.

Do y'all think it will be canceled because the election is the last day of the visit? Or could they change the dates to move it forward or back, but not, you know, months and months to years...

The visit will happen in the last stages of a electoral campaign, with the election itself being on the last day. I believe they will probably postpone it because of that.

If the US visit is still not confirmed for the fall, maybe this one has a shot to happen this year. If the US visit goes as sheduled, then this one will only happen in Spring 2018 at the very best Crazy
