400 high school students, who for two years have been with the Academy for Talented Youth east of the Great Belt were inspired by Princess Marie, who was the main speaker when this year's award ceremony took place in Solrod on Tuesday afternoon.
Solrod Gymnasium rooms were too small for the many students and their families, and consequently the full session was held in Solrod Sports Center's main hall. Here she also commented on her own experiences as students.
- "My advice to you is that you must choose to study with both heart and brain. There will be a job for you, but it must also be a field of knowledge you are passionate about"
, said Princess Marie.
Furthermore, she encouraged young people to make sure to go abroad - and this is something that also 20-year-old Jonas Lynge Vishart from Solrod Gymnasium appreciated. "The Academy for Talented Youth is an additional offer to high school students through lectures and joint events to learn more - in other words, a helping hand for students who want to be academically challenged"
, as Solrod Gymnasium Rector Bjarne Thams said in his speech.
And it is precisely rector Bjarne Thams, who some years ago helped Jonas Lynge Vishart to become part of the academy, the students are part of the mid-1.g to the first semester of 3.g. The young student has a special interest in science and, like Princess Marie also has he been on exchanges in the United States.
- "It is interesting that she also sought knowledge elsewhere"
, says Jonas Lynge Vishart, currently all goes 3.g.
Currently, the plan is that he will read on, when he's got the hat on - like an engineer of nature.
