this is a great idea, I love being introduced to new music!!  my tastes are all over the place as well.... no matter what type, if I hear a song and it makes me feel good I don't care what it is..

Noor76 and Jazzy, ironically I too have some of the same music above on my Ipod - ie Sonique, Etta James, Enya, Billy Holiday....

Friends in Australia introduced me to two bands I really liked (he produced some of their music) Soulframe and Tarmac Adam.  More favorites are Beck; Que Onda Guero; Moby- We are all made of stars; Guster - Satellite; The Smiths - Some girls are bigger than others, Stop me if you know this one; David Bowie - all his music, Dido - Thank you; Janet Jackson - good excercising music;  I could go on and on but this is just a sampling of my Ipod.

Another group of guys i got to know from Ireland formed a band called Rubyhorse - some great stuff was produced and then poof they broke up... very sad as they were such a talented and hilariously funny bunch to be around... I have 2 of their CD's and there are some very cool songs on them.

Musically speaking my taste is everywhere!

Plus because I essentially grew up with 2 cultures and laguages, I have exposure to alot more music that i would not otherwise have done.

At the moment I'm loving the Pakistani bad Call, in particular their song Laree Chootee from the film "Ek Chalis ki Last Local". It's an interesting time as these days Indian films are dominated by Pakistani artists. The quality of music coming out of Pakistan has been amazing in recent years and there are lots of great bands and solo artists.

OK, I might be totally late on this but have you guys heard of Imogen Heap?  Specifically her song Hide & Seek?  Beautiful song w/o instrumentation except her voice has different harmonies through one of those voice things.  (sorry not that literate in music terminology.)  Anyway, I'll post the original, then the remix, then a remix by Tiesto (a Dutch DJ, currently 2nd best in the world; he beautifully remixes and re-defines this song, while not betraying its essence).  Gosh, I haven't heard such beautiful talent and voice in a long time.  And I don't listen to pop music b/c everything seems so fake, but once I hear somehting unique like this I am hooked.  Happy listening!
