They are already talking about an IOC replacement for Freddles just in case Margrethe steps down  and Derf has to be King.
Athletes want the replacement found NOW!

So Derf is naffing off to Canada for 11 days in his role as IOC member, which must be a euphemism for grunting and incoherence  Whistle Will Yrma stay at home and do her usual 'wind swept beach' grass widow scene?  Thinking or will she appear in Canada at some point to offload Derf of some of the Danish taxpayers contributions to splash out on some new togs, shoes, or whatever....there must be a Prada outlet there!!

I seem to remember BEFORE Freddy got the OPC that the Queen would co9ntinue for at least another 10-years to Freddy would have his big chance at the IOC.............I just can NOT see Daisy stepping down as Queen, perhaps slowing up some......and allowing Joachim & Marie to have more engagements to HELP out the Perfect Icon Couple.......
well April 16th is really not that long to wait

I agree with you Lynda and for the same reasons.  In following all the royals, it always seems to be a very BAD thing if "one" abdicates.  There's been rumors about Bea doing it in addition to Daisy, but I guess I could see Bea doing it but I just don't think Daisy will.  Unless there's something health-wise that we're all not aware of yet for either her or the Dame.  I don't know if it's because they obsess about the birthright thing and that they're chosen by God to reign or if they think it'll bring some form of bad luck, but it's just RARELY done.  From all I've read, Queen Elizabeth would NEVER consider it.  I also don't think Daisy thinks M & F are ready...

It also depends on what the traditions of the different countries are. In the Netherlands they have a tradition of abdicating at some point while it would be totally unheard of in Denmark! Also Margrethe made perfectly clear on many occasions that she considers her job a lifetime job and therefore not something that you just retire from.

I hope she sticks around forever! Mosh would be SO disappointed!  Angel

I've read somewhere that Máxima did exactly the same, but no pics were published. It was said that she met the football and basketballs teams.
