Prince Carlos of Bourbon-Parma married Ms Annemarie Gualthérie van Weezel in a civil ceremony in Wijk bij Duurstede, hometown of his mother Princess Irene of The Netherlands, Saturday June 12. The Prince and his Dutch fianceé, now styled Her Royal Highness Princess Annemarie, Princess of Piacenza, opted for a sober and secret civil wedding ceremony, ahead of their 'real marriage' at the end of the Summer in Brussels, Belgium. Princess Annemarie works as parliamentary correspondent for the Dutch national broadcaster NOS. She will continue to work in The Hague and will continue to use her maiden name, she said in earlier interviews with Dutch royalty magazines. Carlos (40) is the eldest son of Princess Irene of the Netherlands and Prince Carlos Hugo of Bourbon-Parma, Duke of Parma. They married in 1964 in Rome and their marriage was dissolved in 1981. Carlos works in the field of innovation and sustainability.

Thank-you for the information and photo, PeDe. I think the bride's oufit is too casual for a civil wedding. She could of worn something a bit more formal. Yet, she still looks good.

This man has a 13-year-old son, whom he doesn't see. He acknowledges paternity, but at the time of his birth issued a statement saying that the mother made an 'independent decision to become a mother' and therefore Prince Carlos would not have anything to do with them.
I don't know how a man can say that it was an independent decision. This family is very disgusting imo. I wonder what his father thinks, who, of course, famously dissed Henri of Luxembourg for marrying Maria Teresa, and as a result of his disapproval the whole Luxembourg family stopped using their Bourbon Parma titles. Carlos-Hugo has at times publicly claimed to be the rightful king of Spain, supporting the Carlist fringe movement.

IICR, Grand Duke Henri is now using the Bourbon-Parma titles. I don't know if this means they have mended their rift with Carlos-Hugo but I do believe that when he ascended the throne, he announced he and his sons would be using the B-P titles. Carlos-Hugo no longer claims to be the rightful King of Spain (although some faithful carlists still see him as it) and Juan Carlos gave him and his children spanish citizenship. There was a story that both of them tried to hook up Felipe and Maria Carolina to bring the two sides together but I think that was just a made-up story from the gossip press.

I forgot about him looking like a tubby balding WA look a like. What I remember about his "kid" is that Carlos was a sperm donor to a older lesbian friend and she wanted to at least have a a baby with somebody she knew/met instead of a test tube . His dad Carlo Hugo also has a couple of oopsie babies with a housekeeper too, I doubt they will be part of big half brothers church wedding! Plum

Today is the religious wedding of the new Duke of Parma with Annemarie Gualthérie van Weezel at the Abbaye de La Cambre in Belgium. More pics at PPE including the guests, and a better view of the bride: http://ppe-agency.com/sho...rch=20-11-2010%20Brussels

And if we already are at Max...the bride is reminding me of her, so is the groom of Max...

Anita looks nice too. Mabel and Laurentien look like their usual crazy-ass selves. Queen Bee is wearing another cheese hat and Maxima. Oh, Maxima. Dear Maxima, Those pants make you look gigantic. They make your hips look enormous. I really don't think that you are that big, so why do you keep wearing this style? Please stop immediately. If this is due to the influence of your friend Natan then please defriend him immediately. He does not know how to make clothes that look good on your body. Kthanxbai. Love, Pixiecat

Why did they get married in Brussels and not in NL? And does anyone know what her title will be?
Also-is that one of the DRF's tiaras?
And I just have to say that I hate that stupid ruffle that is sticking up behind her head on the veil. Otherwise, she looks okay.

^^ It's a DRF tiara. I suppose that they got married there because they live in Belgium, and it's easier to find a catholic church there I don't like the dress, and nearly all the guests look dreadful

Carlos and Brigitte were in a relationship, Brigitte is not a lesbian. She got pregnant and decided to keep the child.
They married in Brussels because they live there and because Annemaries family lives there. While the Bourbon-Parma's are related to the Dutch royal family, that doesn't require them to marry in the Netherlands. And it certainly hasn't anything to do with that is in Belgium easier to find a catholic church. In the Netherlands are quite a lot of catholic churches, especially in the south.
And she already has a title since the civil wedding: Duchess of Parma.
