Miss W. here comes another for those old pictures. I love them dearly... Thank you so much for taking the pains and effort to scan them for us and post them.... About the pic with Juliana and Wilhelm at the latters b'day: Isn't it amazing how old Juliana looks? Honestly I had to go back and check if it wasn't a mistake and the woman next to WII was her mother Wilhelmina. Would you happen to have a date on this picture? Just judging from WII's age, he seems quite old and frail, the fashion etc I'd say it must have been the late 30's. Don't think it was already wartime, as Juliana would have been in Canada from 1940 on and even before I don't think that attending the b'day party of the ex-kaiser of your enemy would have been a good idea. So let us imagine it was perhaps 1936/37. Which would make Juliana (*1909) a spring chicken of not even 30. Her mother the queen would have been in her mid 50's.... Never a good sign if people wonder if you are in your late twenties or mid fifties....

i am not always looking at all the "old" pics but ms. waynfleet has brought some true treasures to the board and has also broadened our horizons by dedicating threads to many royals that were not or less discussed on RD.
when i looked at the pic, i couldn't help wondering what we would have said about the ladies attire...

Let me express the sincerest hope that Juliana wears some sort of party hat.....

Is that pic photoshopped. That doesn't even look like her . What's going in on with some of them, it's like they are on the skeleton wagon. Doesn't look good.

I've never heard that before, but I kind of doubt it. He would never sleep with someone like Maxima, who has the most disgusting feet I've ever seen

Well they treat people who suffer under arachnophobia with spiders to take the fear away. Maybe it´s the same with WA and Maxima?
