I wonder what the Clarence House people meant by having it "for some time". How long is that? I'd love to know who gave her. I can see Camilla choosing it or maybe even the Bogantons; maybe Willy but not Chuck. The Gulf Arabs usually give really important ice for weddings and state presents so I doubt it's from them.
I think in this case "for some time" is code for 'yea she just bought it but we know that would be bad PR so we're going to lie are butts off cause you can't prove otherwise'

I think Waity chose it all by her little self, with Pippa in tow. Kate: http://www.google.com/img...JpGI0QGQgoGIAQ&zoom=1

Given the royals' penchant for coming home from their international tours with some new bijoux, any chance Kate will pick up some bling on the present trip? And so far have we seen anything new that the Queen might have loaned her for the journey?

Any chance the sparkly poppy Kate wore to the Remembrance Day event was a real piece of jewelry rather than costume jewelry? After all, she'll be needing to wear a poppy in November for the rest of her life, so the idea of a fine-jewelry version isn't too far off the wall.

I wonder if she got any shiny new baubles in her Christmas stocking? I know the BRF tends toward jokey presents at Sandringham, but maybe William or her parents came up with something special. Guess we won't know for a while as he public engagements seem somewhat limited.

So far she got only hand-me-down stuff from Will belonged previously to Diana. And EII lend her tiara and one brooch. So I doń't expect showering with jewels. I think they find Kate not worth it.

I honestly don't think Lazy is much of a jewelry person. All the jewelry she wore before the wedding--with the exception of The Holy Ring--was minimal (tiny earrings, tiny necklace, etc.). Now, IMO, the only reason to marry Willie would be for the bling---I'd be rolling around in a bed of emeralds/sapphires/rubies/diamonds/pearls every damn day

I don't think she had much of a say about the ring. Far better if William had come up with something completely new and of more contemporary taste for her. I've read that even Diana didn't like the ring all that much as the years went by. It's just plain too too too much.
