I just realized that Cate Blanchett looks strikingly similar to her. If ever there was to be a movie based on the Duchess' life, I nominate Cate to play her role.

Itīs the first time I donīt find this tiara ugly. The tiara is quite nice, it just requires the right hair, which it seems to rarely get from Maria Teresa (nor did Grand Duchess Charlotte do much for it).

With the exception of what the cancer did to age her, she aged quite gracefully. Henri doesn't ever seem to age so perhaps he got it from her.

Agree! She had her mothers face but with the severity of her father. Henri, Mr. Formaldehyd looks great.

http://img4.hostingpics.n.../pics/225212josefinej.jpgShe looks much better than MT, sorry but MT doesn't wear the jewels very well, she always chooses pieces that don't suit her

Itīs the first time I donīt find this tiara ugly. (Thanks for KarlandZita from AP for the photos) Thanks for these great pictures, MW! The Empire tiara indeed looked great on Josephine Charlotte, also on her mother-in-law Charlotte, on Maria Theresa not so much. The necklace worn by Josephine Charlotte is one of these pieces which were intended to be sold in 2006 by Sothebys (estimated at 180.000 to 240.000). The tiara/necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels was a wedding gift of her father Leopold. IIRC Maria Teresa, Margaretha and Astrid had worn it on their wedding day as tiara. I never understood why they even thought about selling such a significant piece.
