Great point TLLK.  No mud slinging here!   Wink

Ok fairy you make great points.  But I still think royals have the responsibility to highlight and support causes that are of concern to their subjects(?) and for the interest of outsiders like me and you.  It's just easy for me to forget about the royals' other lives and focus on what their purpose and goal is for this particular project.  There just has to come a separation between the royals' other lives from their duties at some point.  Agree to disagree.   Wink

Here's more information about the program.  The format of the show does not make it to seem like Maxima is an expert on money management.  She's the special guest.  Perhaps a bigger issue is whether this type of show is more appropriate for celebs than royals.

First here's a full video.  It seems like guests, here Maxima, are tested on their knowledge of the prices of items.: http://translate.google.c...%26rls%3Den%26prmd%3Divns

Some more info about the program:
Maxima attended BNN show about money
Quote
BNN Thursday, January 27 sends a theme evening about young people and money. Not only the front side of the coin provide a royal touch, Princess Maxima is available to talk about people in debt. The Princess is honorary chairman of the CentiQ, guide to money matters . Patrick Lodiers presents the show and Valerio Zeno finds out if the participating celebrities, the audience and viewers at home their financial hustle out and subjects them to a money test. The National Money Test is Thursday, January 27th from 20:30 to 21:45 on BNN at 3.

Princess Máxima asked during the broadcast highlighted the importance of wise money management. "Many people - especially young people - find it difficult to deal with money. They have insufficient understanding what a month on money coming in and what it sees. Thus they often in financial difficulties, "said the Princess. The idea for the National Cash test came during a meeting between Princess Máxima and Patrick Lodiers. "The latest smartphone, the one pair of sneakers, or maybe even a beer, the temptation for young people with money to throw is great," says the BNN chairman. "I therefore think it not only fun but also very useful to BNN this program and to talk about the Princess."

During The National Money Test Patrick Lodiers talk with experts about all the facts and figures in debt, spending patterns and price consciousness. How do we give our money and what do we know of money? Valerio Zeno, the financial regulator of the evening. He leads the National Money Test to the audience and the players in the studio. The player and the celebrity audience as most of the test will be broadcast at the Royal put in the limelight.

Viewers can play along with the National Cash Test geldtest.bnn.nl or with pen and paper.

And I apologize if this is against the rules, but a poster on TRF nicely synopsized the program.

The presentor says that he met princess Máxima before and that they came up with the idea of the programme together. The princess explains her motivation: she meets (due to her work I assume) a lot of people who have problems in dealing with money and who ended up in debt. She continues about awareness, parents have a responsibility. Amalia gets 1 euro per week at the moment. Pocket money for children isn't only to buy things but also to teach them how to save/budget. She mentions that there are 366 different subsriptions to mobile telephones (the major reason for debts among young people), so it is difficult to pick the right one. She met 2 young men who went to Barcelona for 25 euros, only to spend 700 euros there (and that way they became in debt). So she suggests that we need to inform people/ youngsters more about costs etc. I don't think she got the joke about youngsters for free in Chersonisos (the Dutch Jersey shore). The presentor asks how she stayed out of financial trouble when she was young. In her days she didn't have mobile phones, no internet sales. In her days they only had a walkman, for which she saved for a long time. At the moment there are so many consumers goods for youngsters. And she always received cash money which she put in different things. Now it is all on an account, with a pass, so it isn't so visibe anymore. She starts with a money test and has to guess about the costs of milk, sneakers and in the end a game computer. She says that she knows the price of the computer very well since her daughters really want it (but obviously she has her doubts about it).

In the end the winner, singer Dominique van Hulst, compliments the princess for the initiative.

I would like to go Barcelona for 25 Euros, I bet she has no idea how much aiport taxes are nowdays!!! That happens when you fly in private plane every other week!!

The girl made a good interpretation of Maxima's words!!!  Star

I think she did not get it either how the presentator made joke of her walkman!!

Funny thing she holded a piece of paper during the whole interview!!! Does she need to have notes on paper on her yellow walkman and Amalia 1 euro Roll Eyes

FAIRY  Star
Charlotte the money expert management came almost at the end, she was the one that gave the practical tips in the progrma, not Maxima.
The winner of the test was the singer Do, Maxima handed the prize, the girl made fun of the prize pretending she was very moved.

I got this gem from the Com, from the same girl from Charlotte quote!!

The part with princess Máxima starts after 2.20 minutes. Although Pieter van Vollenhoven and Princess Laurentien were participating in a show with audience before, I am not too sure if it should be done again :Valerio Zeno screaming: 'princess Máximaaaaa!'

But the difference is Pieter and Laurentien had done the program Live!!! Even the sugars did not find Maxr that good?  Blink

I remember a solo interview she had years ago and Ohh boy, she went on about another silly silly story of her about milking a cow, the reporter just made fun of her!! I believe still in You tube!!!

Can't see Mary being comfortable enough to do this sort of thing on Danish TV; she's much, much less natural with the language even after so many years in Denmark.

So, props to Maxima for that.

But she should have brushed her hair first.

Yes wind in my previous comment I stated that Max was not the expert but was just a special guest because she filled the spot where celebs would normally appear.  I also stated whether it's appropriate for Max to appear in a celeb-like setting.  I think that's where the poster at TRF was hitting at too.
