I think that her father was Slovenian and her mother German.  I'm not sure why they ended up in Venezuela, but neither of her parents were Venezuelan.

Yes, he had some sort of shoe business.  I've never seen anything that gives the name of this business, and I've never heard anything about what type of shoes   Her father always sounded kind of shady to me.  Tatters and one of her siblings were conceived when her father had an affair with their mother-they never married, which is a bit odd for someone in Venezuela at that time.  Apparently, her father also had an affair with Natalie Wood in the 60s.  I guess he was much older than her mother.  Kind of an odd family.  I don't know how long Tatiana lived in Venezuela, but it's always sounded to me like she mostly grew up in Europe. 

A couple of years ago, there was someone over on TRF who made some interesting posts about how he/she was writing a book about Tatiana's family.  They made some posts like, "the key to this is in Venezuela" (Venezuela was either bolded or italicized).  It sounded like there was some nefarious business or something that they had uncovered.  That person kind of dropped off the face of the earth, and I never got to find out more about this book.  Kind of weird.

Tats does have an exotic look.  I'm glad to see her back and looking healthy.  All sympathy to them if they did indeed suffer a miscarriage, and hoping for the best in their marriage.  I have to say I get a kick out of her posing.  It seems like her "on" switch is always activated.  However, IMHO, these latest photos seem to have an attractive softness that wasn't evident at their wedding.  Makes me interested to see more photos of her in the future.

Pixie, I knew all this and I also remember reading that Tatiana's father was quite the playboy at the time. I believe she grew up in Malaga, near her maternal grandmother. She still visits her as it seems, I remember having seen photos of Nick & Tat at the Malaga airport some time ago. She also spent much time in Switzerland, where she also met Nick, right?

She went to boarding school in Switzerland, but for some reason, I thought that she also grew up there.  I don't know where I read that, so it's probably not correct.  Her mother was born in Germany, but married Attilio Brillembourg.  I don't know where he's from, but they currently live in New York. Her mother has children from this marriage, so they've been together for a long time.

I don't know where she met Nick.  Her family does have a ski chalet somewhere in Switzerland, so it is highly likely that she met him there.  I don't know if I've ever read about how they met.  I need to go over to the old threads on TRF to see if there's something about their early days.

I think I remember the story of their knowing each other since she was basically a kid from skiing in Switzerland.
