IMO I'm one of Maria and Thomas' invited guests. It's almost like being permitted into an exclusive club. The membership rules are clear and simple so if I don't follow it or create an uncomfortable atmosphere for my hosts then I know there is a good chance that I'll be warned and then asked to exit the party.

Well said TLLK, and frankly I think it's the way we all should view our time and privilege to be on this board.  This is no different than other things in our lives...there are rules and laws that have to be adhered to and if you don't, you pay the price.  I'm certain Maria and Thomas have other things that need their attention in their lives...they shouldn't have to baby-sit all of us.  But I wanted you to know that I liked what you wrote.

I always enjoyed that this board is heterogeneous. And DA belongs to the different views. She is maybe more crass than others, but I don´t see the need to make a fuss about one post she made. It´s getting boring to discuss this every 2 months.

I second that. I found it ironic for someone who condemns Mary for being a drama queen and "bogan" (a word I learned on this site) demonstrates exactly the same behaviors she condemns Mary for.

how did i miss all the drama? 

i confess to being a bad royal disher, i just tend to randomly click and comment, i don't really follow threads specifically, but i would just like to say that i love the forum, it's a great way to pass some time and have a little fun, i've only had one misunderstanding with a fellow poster a while ago but it was quickly diffused and that was that, it was quickly forgotten with no ill-feeling

whilst Thomas and Maria have done a great job with the site and the forum that's not the reason i signed up or the reason i keep coming back, we all contribute to the board and it's the collective input that is the draw for me, i think it's the contributors to the board that very much set the tone and the feeling of camaraderie and i wouldn't like to think that new members would be put off joining as i've had a great time on the site so far

people won't always agree but everyone is entitled to their opinion and no one should try to deny them that, i personally love the debates so long as it doesn't get personal

oh one more thing.... i'd like to say a big thank you to the members who do the most photo posting (sometimes i'll post photos but i find the process quite tedious) as it really makes the board so much more enjoyable; people like Miss Waynfleet, PeDe, Rearden, Clara etc etc... sorry if i've left anyone out, i'm just thinking off the top of my head

we're more alike than we are different so lets all have a great time on Royal Dish, the best forum this side of the Milky Way

Banning Diana won't solve the real problem, I'm afraid it will even strengthen the power of those who always ganged up against her and anyone else who dared to see things differently and voice different and original opinions.. Those of us who have our eyes wide open have witnessed what really happened here.. after the last massive attack, you forced Diana into a delirium, a frenzy of rage (cuz she's human and feels the pressure and somehow wants to defend herself) and here we go, look how nasty she is and how she talked, she deserves to be banned now, how rude.. and so on


See I'm not yet convinced that the only RD rule applies to everyone and I never really bought the fairytale of the parity of treatment on RD
Those who have their way with words - unlike Diana - will always be the "winners", forcing others to attack them directly, then go back to their holes and when the drama is over and the "bad one" is gone, they jump back on the drama thread to congratulate and thank Maria & Thomas and reassure them for the 1,895th time that justice has been administered, what a great job you did once again, what a paradise RD is ! Haven't we just witnessed that once again ? How predictable...


I'm writing all that in good faith, Maria & Thomas.. so that you no longer wonder why some posters are no longer active
I do have the privilege to confirm all that, as I correspond with many old posters quite often

I am not aware that there were people who always ganged upon Diana on this board. Even if there were, aren't they allowed their opinion? Nobody forced any words into Diana's mouth or forced her to behave in any which way. The first steps into adulthood is to take responsibility for one's words and actions. I do not feel in any which way responsible for anything anyone else has said or done, but take full reponsibility for my onw words and actions. The same goes for absolutely everyone else.

Freedom of speech does not mean abuse of others. Freedom of speech does not extend to a ridiculous degree on this board as, I understand, has one rule, and it is do not attack other posters. Anyone not happy with it, myself included, must go somewhere else. I do not have freedom of speech in my home either, as none of us are allowed to abuse each other. Is that real freedom of speech? No, it's only reasonable behaviour. ANd my family are all better off that way.

This board is better off without attacks on other posters, and one poster is not any different from others. I personally suffer from depression (or would, if I didn't take my tablets), and in my darkest moments that my husband has shared have I ever come up with verbal garbage to the extent I have withnessed on this board. SO Maria and Thomas have allowed a lot before acting out to do with their board as they wish. I do not think that M & T make their decisions light-heartedly.

And what's so wrong with being happy on a message board? Why do we  have to rant and rave to make it better? WHy can't people diasgree without abusing others? I don't get that at all.
