OK - technophobe here can't get the images onto her post but castles/palaces that I love are:

Glamis (the story behind Shakespeare using it in Mabeth is really quite spooky)

Lee Castle (Privately owned and not open to the public but I live near and so it has a special place in my heart)

Hamilton Palace - no longer there but would have been fabulous to see - the images look spectacular (see also point above)
