Hey, I loved Mabel's bows; lots of little propellers to fiddle with! It was definitely different and I liked it for that!
Loved Mette Marit's though missed fresh flowers instead of the snake (thanks, Larzen, for a good laugh!). Infanta Cristina is my favourite, too, and MM comes second.

If Mabel's bows had been limited to the bodice and sleeves, then it would have been stunning. The fabric and fit were superb. The train was a disaster.

Without the bows the dress would have been a bit bland but quite pretty. It is a nice cut and fit her perfectly. Plus as far as I remember somebody who meant it well hid her black lipliner and the only one within close proximity was a beigy rose, also very nice...

Mabel's bows were over the top in number and size but the attention to detail is impeccable and it's probably the best crafted dress in recent years.

I'm surprised Mabel has not popped into Wikipedia and photoshopped the bows away as she attempted to do with her dodgy past.

Top 3: 1) Mette-Marit 2) Lady Sarah Chatto 3) Sarah Ferguson
Not so much... 1) Maxima 2) Alex #2 3) Marie Chantal
The Diana fans won't like this, but I also loved Camilla Parker Bowles' wedding attire, both at the registry and at the church.

But you see, she likes those bows very much, have you had a good look at the christening outfits of her daughters? All the bows they couldn't possibly tag onto her wedding dress have been used to make MINI BOW dresses. I had rather wondered that the designers indeed went along, as those two guys really seem to have some quite interesting fashion ideas and are so very ridiculed by this famous dress.

Like fairy and Royal Me! I would like to put in a word for the late Princess Margaret's ensemble.
Like all the best gowns, it was designed and executed with the unique qualities of the bride specifically in mind. Her husband Tony Armstrong-Jones (who, as we know, was very artistic) had a major say in the design, and refused to allow Norman Hartnell to lather the petite princess in his trademark embroidery. The white silk organza was left absolutely plain, and the deep V neckline, semi-transparent infill, and clean white piping emphasised her tiny waist and large bust . Her silhouette could easily have been rendered ungainly by poor couture, or an excess of lace and trimming, whereas a long train was eschewed for fear it would underline her noted lack of height.
The tiny posy pf lily of the valley was also a masterstroke, as it kept the Princess's minute waist in view. (The Queen, who had a similar figure, had carried a bushier arrangement, holding it high so that her waist could not be seen - this, combined with the high, swetheart neckline, made her look short, and matronly.) Tony also suggested that Margaret styled her hair high, and wore a tall tiara. As a result, she went out and bought the whacking Poltimore tiara, on the grounds that nothing in the Royal Colection was big enough! The overall result was glorious - so glorious that 30-odd years later, her daughter-in-law Viscountess Linley commissioned a gown that was, if not a copy, then certainly a tribute and beautiful enough to make the Best Brides list on it's own account.
Princess Margaret was attended by a posse of very young bridesmaids, dressed in white, very frilly full-length frocks, with short puffed sleeves and Peter Pan collars. Touchingly, these dresses were replicas of the party dress King George VI most liked Margaret in, when she was a child.

ITA. Unfortunatly, the craftsmanship was nealry overpowered by all those ugly bows.
