God mothers, God fathers for V&D baby

Estelle's name "Mary" must be after another Mary, because almost all other versions of the name (Marie, Maria, Miriam, Marit) sounds more natural in Swedish. Mary is very foreign sounding to my Swedish ears but the other versions are quite normal Swedish names. So the question for me is if she's named after THE Mary or if they know some other Mary they want to honour.

Maybe they just liked how the name sounded.
I don't think the baby was named after our Mary; if they were so close (so close that they named their first born after her instead of their sisters, grandmothers, aunts, childhood friends, cousins etc...) it would be known already and it wouldn't be a surprise.

Now that the Prime Minister of Sweden Fredrik Reinfeldt and his wife Filippa are in the process of separating  , I just was wondering whom will he show up with at  Princess Estelle upcoming baptizing? Alone? With a new girlfriend? (it’d be too soon, so I doubt it...) With his still official wife?  Just speculating...

I would guess that he will show up alone. A new girlfriend is out of the question, there is a mandatory separation period of 6 months before you can get a divorce when you have kids in Sweden and I don't think he will show up with a girlfriend before he's divorced. And to go with Filippa when everybody knows that they're separated would be weird as well. My guess is alone.

I posted the same thing on C&C thread of their visit in Sweden...It should be nice if Charles was asked to be one of the godfathers. Estelle will have the future king of England as godfather!!

I bet it's both sisters, Anna & Madeleine. And then Frederik and Haakon because they're the next two monarchs of the other two Scandinavian countries. Just look at the other two Scandinavian heirs-to-heirs right now:

Christian has Haakon and Victoria as godparents (among others)
Ingrid Alexandra has Frederik and Victoria

Their godparents will, in all likeliness, be the rulers of the other two Scandinavian countries when it's their turn to be crown prince(ss). I really can't see Victoria not reciprocating, so that would be Haakon and Frederik for Estelle, and then take the two sisters to even it out, gender-wise. If there's a second child to be baptized in the coming years, they'll go the more international route and pick from the wider European royal pool. But with the heir it's going to be a Scandinavian party.

Interestingly, all the European heirs except Leonor had the person they pushed from the throne as godparent

I'm starting to think that Victoria is going to collect the favours she's owed from all the times she's been a godmother and that WA(confirmed), Haakon/MM, Fred/Mary and Philipe/Mathilde are going to be among the grandparents plus at least a SRF member and someone from Daniel's family.
