can one of experience royal watcher answer this question for me.
Can a member of the SRF have an normal career if he or she had the proper education or drive to hold down a job say as an teacher/ nurse/ doctor/ editor of fashion magazine and still keep the HRH status.
Dose the HRH status prevent them from having a normal job? I notice some other royal have jobs and still represent the royal house as a part time job. Looks like the biggest representing job they have is the Nobels and if they were not invited to this event then as a royal house would have a lower profile.
For example can CP have a career as industrial designer - full time and still do limited representation.
He's main appearance would be Guest appearance at the Nobels.
Other royals beside the heir have had jobs and show up for major family events and keep their HRH status.

thanks
As far as I know there's nothing stopping them from making their own money (at least not CP and Madde), and as far as I know people wouldn't mind it either. The heir I guess should have representation as a full time job. But considering how symbolic the royal positions are today I don't see assignments full time for the whole family. CG/Silvia and Vic/Dan must be able to cover most of it.
Regarding the spares, well to be honest Prins Bertil is the only "spare" there has been for quite some time. CG only have sisters and they are not in the succession order and have never represented much (mostly Christina). The kings' uncles all married the "wrong" women so they lost their titles and "had to" work for a living I guess.
Prins Bertil was mainly in the military if I recall right. Seems like a "proper" career for a Royal

I doubt people in general in Sweden would mind if CP and Madde had real jobs making real money to reduce the allowance from the taxpayers

Especially since they don't represent much and honestly don't have any "deeper" tasks (mainly cutting ribbons and giving out awards IMO).
The most meaningful thing Madde has done is giving her face and name to Childhood foundation ("work" is a bit too strong a word) - that's at least for a meaningful cause. CP gave his name and face to a racing team...
Hm, don't know if I answered your questions. Mostly my own opinions here
