Now, what exactly are we supposed to take from the fact that Amber was the "best" assosciate that Mary could admit to when she is this hell bent on notoreity? Sure makes you wonder what the others were up to?

Amber goes on about her brother being in the music industry. Well, HERE HE IS PERFORMING. Whoah, Amber, you really hang out with the stars! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jju1dozM_m0And his latest has had four views since August! http://www.youtube.com/wa...rulnM&feature=relatedLooks like Amber Petty is as much of a deluded narcissist as Mary! I am just speechless ... Amber's comments about her "music scene brother" talked him up as an industry player!FAIL! That's hilarious, especially since his facebook page states that he works at the family's floor covering business

Having a second (paying!) job is very common for people trying make a living from the music industry. It often takes a while to become established. Good on him for not going on the dole while he's out gigging. And good on him for remaining a 'player' through thick and thin - sticking to what he loves to do. I, personally, have no problems with Amber speaking encouragingly of her brother and being proud of him. It's what any loving sister would do. It's a bit like the 'lie' men tell when asked -"Does my bum look big in this?" It would have been terrible for her to have said, "My brother thinks he's going to make it in music. He's not making enough money to make ends meet even though he's out there playing his butt off. He'll never make it and his music sucks." A lot of now famously successful artists, in every field, died as unknown paupers.
I still find Amber dating a stripper 'in public' in very poor taste. I think she's an embarrassment to herself.
For her sake I do hope that one of these men turns out to be Mr Right.

Cloaked, you are quite wrong. Myles Petty doesn't have a "second job". You haven't addressed the issue that Amber was dishonest in bignoting her brother as a "player" in the music industry, not a below-average amateur doing some pub gigs. He is NOT a musician with a day job to keep his music going. He works in a floor covering business fulltime and plays some music (poorly) part time. He has no profile, no chops, no cred among fellow musicians. He will never become "established". Frankly, four views (including mine) in four months on Youtube means he is the equivalent of me playing first grade pieces on a clarinet on youtube from my bedroom. Amber's claims were foolish. Remember, also, that Amber went on the record as a "D" grade student at Firbank and posted her school reports (her top grade was a "C"). Musicians are generally highly intelligent. Myles is unlikely to be more intelligent than his sister. Maybe they were both damaged by carpet glue .....

That is very true; however, Amber spoke about how he was a music-industry insider-implying that he'd become a successful musician. Successful musicians and "industry insiders" don't work at flooring companies.

Yes, Amber did tell a slight untruth if her brother was working where he is now back then when she spoke of his music career. You're right. To me it is a forgivable exaggeration and more in the way of a compliment to her brother's efforts. Pixiecat is so cute. I only just noticed the photo. She has pixie ears. I am a big cat lover.

Except that Amber Petty wasn't complimenting her failed musician brother Myles Petty. She was bignoting HERSELF by making out that she associated with music industry heavies herself. I will cast an eye over Amber's biographical claims and sort the hubris from any small grains of truth.

Truthfulness and integrity do not exist on a sliding scale. Using "slight" to describe an untruth, while possibly common in many areas of the world, is a device used to try and diminish a direct example of someone behaving without integrity and is also a weak attempt at discarding responsiblity and possible consequences for speaking the truth. To be truthful, Amber could have chosen to say that her brother works in the family flooring business and say that he also enjoys playing music...sometimes he even plays a gig in a local pub. The picture she described was that he was a professional musician who made a living from being a musician. It is the same bogan tactic Mary used in saying she was a competitive rider (which no one can verify), meeting Fred "at the Olympics" (rather than tackily behaving like a tramp at a bar in Sydney during the time of the Olympics), or neglecting to correct others who call her a lawyer when she has never practiced law. Arguments about the commerce and law degree abound as to whether or not that makes her a lawyer. Having a law degree does not make one a lawyer. The person must still pass the bar for the jurisdiction in which they work and then must have clients for whom they perform some function of the law - and nothing in Mary's inflated, hodge-podge work history includes anything to do with being a lawyer. Mary and her best gal pal Amber embody the expression...what was it?...Tassie scrubbers.

Yes, true. Such clarification is very true. You speak wisely about integrity.
On reflection, I have never heard Mary being called or calling herself a lawyer. I have always known that a law degree doesn't make one a lawyer and Mary would have known that too. Has she been quoted as calling herself a lawyer? Or is it just a reporter who assumes 'law degree' equates to 'lawyer'? And I have only ever read that Mary was a pony-club member and competed in that sphere. I've never seen it written that she was hugely competitive as an adult rider but just that she loves to ride. Some things that might appear as lies might be created firstly as inaccurate reporting by ignorant press.
Anyway, I agree truth is truth and Amber could have easily been more truthful about her brother's music career. I guess I'm just expressing that I am not ultra phased by that untruthfulness in that instance.
The whole stripper thing I find more degrading but Amber is a big girl and she is the one who has to live with the publicity she seeks by drawing such attention to herself. The ramifications might be positive or negative for her.
... Hey, this exposure here on this site might revitalise interest in Myles' music!!

Hello Magazine have frequently referred to Mary as a former lawyer. Now, given Mary and Frodo's attitude to negative press, I wonder why Hello have never once been pulled up on their obvious mistake by the DRF. I guess it's one of those mistakes that reflects better on Mary than the reality (at level job hopping) so it's ok.

To be fair to Tassie, it's only responsible for one of those scrubbers - Ambuh is from Adelaide
