Just from looking at the seperate threads of Daisy and Dame and the responses to them (sometimes just 3 or 4), I thought it would be a better idea to consolidate the topics in a "news" thread, so we don't have to start an extra thread everytime there's an calendar event. If it's okay with you guys, I'll do the same for Benedikte?

At a parade at the Citadel, 18 November, Her Majesty the Queen for the first time the number of the new honor, valor Cross, also attending Crown Prince Frederik.Of Defence On 18 November, two previously deployed soldiers from ISAF Team 9 at a parade at the Citadel will be honored for their bravery. The soldiers will be the first to be awarded the new valor Cross by Her Majesty the Queen, while the other will be awarded the Defense Medal for bravery by defense chief. Defence chief will at the same time handing out a number of other honors for ISAF Hold 9th The media are invited to attend the event after accreditation by Thursday 17 November at. 15:00. Both valor Cross and the Defense Medal for bravery given to the two soldiers, for the courage they have shown during combat operations in Afghanistan. The recipients of valor Cross and the Defense Medal for Bravery is not beforehand been informed that they must receive the honor, and as an added surprise, defended the occasion of the day ensured that recipients' relatives will be present at the event. About Cross valor valor cross is a new honor that is given for extraordinary efforts. The effort must have occurred during combat operations and be of such nature that the person has acted altruistically in an obviously dangerous situation. The effort marked by a spectacular action beneficial and helpful to others, and with the aim of promoting the solution of an important task or save the lives of others.
Valor cross is approberet of Her Majesty the Queen Valor Cross is the highest Danish honors given for extraordinary efforts in extreme conditions, and would be comparable to the British Victoria Cross or the American Congressional Medal of Honor. Her feet look funny sticking out under the long coat. Maybe it´s just me, but I´ve always thought her feet look funny.  Oh my goodness ... I thought that was Mary Poppins floating above the parade ground ...
