Daisy plays queen at the opening of the exhibition "Kroyer - in the International Light," Skagen Museum, Skagen

Children's expectations were high for Queen Margrethe's arrival at the Skagen Museum. Wearing the nicest clothes, her hair and with Danish flag in their hands stood the children from such Matthisborgen, Brovandeskolen and Children's House (Trindelvej) ready to pay homage to the ruler.
 
But the high expectations turned into disappointment when Queen Margrethe after a very short time disappeared into the Skagen Museum. A little pity for the many attendees, many of whom had waited almost an hour to get an opportunity to see and maybe even say hello to our Queen.
 
After an exclusive tour of the Queen officially opens the exhibition KRØYER - in an international perspective, at. 14.00 for guests.
 
The exhibition can be seen on Skagen Museum 4th May - 2 September 2012

The little flower girl is darling. I wish I knew how to knit because i would totally make myself a poncho like that. Its so cute! Marge is a mean old cow to ignore the kiddos and go straight to the church.

Carl Johan Bernadotte of Wisborg with Gunnila Countess Bernadotte in Tivoli memorial concert in 2010 to mark the 100th anniversary of Queen Ingrid's birth


Queen Margrethe's uncle, the Swedish Count Carl Johan Bernadotte of Wisborg, has died at the age of 95 years.

According to the Swedish court tje count passed in his sleep on Saturday at 21.00 at Ängelholms hospital surrounded by his immediate family.

Carl Johan Bernadotte was Queen Ingrid's brother - were the last of the siblings.

The Swedish royal family expresses grief over the loss of the count through a letter on their website.
- Count Carl Johan Bernadotte was a dear and beloved family member, who did much for the whole family with his kindness and humor. We will remember Carl Johan as an esteemed and amiable relative, as we have always him valued highly, not least through the knowledge he so generously shared with us about our family history.

Carl Johan Bernadotte was the youngest son of Crown Prince Gustaf and Princess Margareta. He married the commoner, journalist Kerstin Wijkmark in 1946, and lost his princely title and right of succession to the throne. They later adopted two children.

In 1951 he was made Count of Wisborg. The court has not yet announced a date for the funeral of Queen Margrethe's uncle.
