Hard to believe they still make movies about an actress who married into second rate royalty and produced three spoilt kids.

And someone who:

1: Disparaged feminism despite the fact that she made her way in the world and relied on herself to pay her way through her career
2: Porked half the men in Hollywood and even messed up two marriages while putting up a saintly front
3: Put on HUGE airs in her role as Princess of Monaco and (as far as I know) never really mastered French
4: Whined all the time about being an actress and then a princess and was never really mature enough to let herself be happy
5: Let herself get pushed around by her family and still loved them despite the bullying they put her through
6: Refused to take responsibility for anything in her life or any of her choices
7: Became a pretentious snob by suggesting that she was more of an artist than an actress later in her life

.... not to forget that 8: she resp. her father had to pay 2 million $$ of dowry as otherwise rainier might have chosen some other screen siren for the leading role as princess of monaco and 'love of his life'.

now, at THAT point of the romance errrrhhh negotiations i would have grabbed a pack of dollarnotes and would have thrown it into his princely puss.

First Look: Nicole Kidman In Grace of Monaco

I like that tiara.


The five-minute teaser presented with great fanfare at the Majestic Hotel, along with clips of 10 other films on TWC’s busy 2013 slate, depicts Princess Grace as a rebel rather than a docile royal spouse.


She obviously loves her husband, Prince Rainier, played by British actor Tim Roth, but she also chafes at his restrictions — such as forbidding her to accept the title role in Alfred Hitchcock’s Marnie.


“Everything I do is wrong . . . You loved an image of me!” she wails to him.


Kidman does a convincing Kelly, but she doesn’t exactly disappear into the role. It seems she’s striving for a convincing evocation of Kelly rather than a mirror image, much as Michelle Williams did for Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn.

Five minutes of the movie was shown at Cannes but no movie trailer is yet available.  No poster available. No official website available.  This is not an optimistic sign of a promising movie.  So far just a lot of commotion in the press surrounding the choice of Nicloe Kiddman and the Grimaldi's displeasure in general.  I hope that the movie is well done.......

And I hope it won't be done at all!  - I don't think Grace was a saint and probably did things that weren't right (I don't know the details of her affairs before she married). I also think she was very vain and spent hours grooming her hair; still can't figure out WHY her hair stayed in place, combed up from the forehead, as mine would fall onto my face. But I like the 60s era and the polished image of her life in Monaco. My mother was, and suppose still is, very fond of Grace.

I have never liked Nicole Kiddman, and would never choose her for any role. Consequently, to me, she's very much ruled out playing Grace! - Alas, I can't change it. Will wait and see what happens.
