I was looking for something online and I came across this website which includes a full translation of the book about Alex written by Trine Larsen.

There are lots of photos and some interesting bits of information that I hadn't come across before.

Enjoy!

I don't mean this in a negative way towards Alex, but her smiles look a bit forced in most of those pictures.  I'm thinking perhaps she's not a smily person, is naturally more serious faced.  Smiling all the time doesn't suit everyone, including me.  She looked very pretty with more meat on her.  She has great facial bone structure.

Thank you so much........I really enjoyed this..................was this the end of the book?       Alex was truly dedicated to Denmark........its a shame it all went so wrong down the road.            I still can't understand how Alex wanted/ended up with the Toyboy (Martin) who doesn't seem to work or care about anything except getting his picture taken with his shirt unbuttoned...............Life is really strange...........maybe he does all the housework.....I didn't realize that Alex loved to cook (I knew Joachim did).............thank you again for posting ---it took a lot of work

thank you so  much for the find L_S...your  Star will have to wait, I zinged you already today  Thumb up Thumb up

These 3 paragraphs are the most significant for me, since the conversations took place before the wedding, and such a stark contrast to Mary & Marie. Although I give Marie big credit for learning Danish in half the time that Mary did with from what I understand even bigger success.

"I want to first learn to speak Danish," said Alexandra the day she became engaged to Prince Joachim. "I do like to understand what the pastor says in church when we married." It would be fine if she would make a wholehearted effort to learn Danish. "Because I speak German in advance so I do not think Danish is going be hard for me to learn because there are many similar words and phrases," she said. Alexandra knew well that if she would even fall quickly in this new country, so it was important to learn the language perfectly. The princess thought, “then you have also more likely to face and feel like a Dane.” "By learning the language lessons, I will also understand the Danes better, and thereby teach myself to be Danish.” No, I wait to say everything in Danish, so I speak the language perfectly," she said. After she came back from Hong Kong, she got her very first hours in Danish. Lessons were held with teachers Grethe Maribo and Bodil Jeppesen.  She had ten lessons. Still, her teachers were impressed. Alexandra asked all of its proximity to speak Danish with her.

The Danes just love Princess Alexandra. She makes no secret that she is determined which not only has created lot of respect for her in Denmark - just think of how quickly she learned Danish. "I think that when one comes into a royal family, it means that you get more duties rather than that means you get more privileges," says Alexandra. She will not sit by idly and do nothing.

"This is my first speech in Danish, and I hope it will not be my last. But they must have some patience with me. It has been important for me to keep it right here because "Schackenborg" become our new home. And I am very pleased. The wedding we've got today, far exceeds our imagination. Everything that has been done here is fantastic.  We had never been able to do it ourselves, but succeeded in only a few months thanks to the generosity of an entire country. I cannot say how touched I am. Many kind people have bid me welcome to my new country, Denmark, and to my new home areas, Sønderjylland. I do not know them all personally yet but I feel they are my friends already. For all this I say thank you with all my heart," said Alexandra. Alexandra's first words in Danish were spoken so eloquently and correctly and with a little accent, it was just charming. Applause washed over her. Back on the podium next to his beloved Alexandra he could again relax. Prince Joachim took his fiancé's hand and gave it a little squeeze and then put their heads together and grinned. She surprised everyone and everything. There is not much to say to a woman who at six weeks learning to speak Danish very well that she has publicly courage to make a speech, seen by more than 1 million viewers. The actual speech lasted only 86 seconds, but that was all that it took for the Danes to be speechless.

You're both welcome.  Smiley I'm just glad to have stmbled across this site, all the credit goes to its owner wo translated the book. Yes

I thought the accounts of Alex's first meetings with the Queen were interesting. It all seemed so relaxed and laidback with the 2 seeming to take an instant liking to each other.

Thanks for posting this site, LS Star  It was really interesting to read about Alex.  There were no mentions about destiny, which was lovely to see.  I'd never seen the photo of J&A with Pavlos and MC.  It seems as though MC and Alex were friendly toward each other (I'm also referring to the pic at X's christening where they were exchanging phone numbers-it was post divorce).  I've never seen MC acting friendly toward Mary, and I've never seen her in the same photo as Marie.

Thanks Little Star, I enjoyed reading that.

I like the way Alexandra gradually became more chic - confident and less giggly.
Her hair and dress style I prefer now.
She made a successful and professional job of her Princess role ... very committed.
Alexandra and Joachim have separated in the best possible way for their boy's contentment.
I respect that Alexandra is still useful and valued as a contributor to Danish organisations.
Denmark did become her new home forever.

It seems as if most of the Greek family have gradually made fewer appearances in DK. I hardly remember them at the summer shoot, can't remember when they were all gathered last. I don't necessarily mean to put the blame on Mary for that, but it does seem to have diminished during the 00's. I don't know how much interaction Marie and MC have ever had with each other.
