It looks like a kind of protection or so in case of an injured/broken foot (the black side)

Hi! New user here, thank you for accepting my request!

I've been lurking on this forum for a while, and just read up on the Albanian royals. I noticed that Prince Leka and his wife do not have children yet, and that Leka is the only living direct descendant of Albania's deposed king. I was wondering, does anyone know what will happen to the Albanian Royal Family if Leka and his wife do not produce any heirs? Does the claim to the (non-existent) throne go to a distant cousin? And does this mean King Zog's line becomes extinct with Leka?

Sorry if this is a terribly sensitive topic.

An understandable question. I wouldn't know and to be honest I am also wondering

Hopefully we get some baby news soon! It will be so sad if King Zog's line ends with the Crown Prince. Sad

So you're a royal highness by marriage? How droll.

The heir presumptive is Leka's first cousin once removed who also has plenty of descendants.  If you look at the family tree on the royal family's official site it doesn't look like they could ever run out of heirs. The site also has a nice bio of the current heir I mentioned.

Thank you Hanimefendi! I will check their site out. I wonder if his cousin is as active in Albania as he is. I read up on him yesterday and it seems he works with the government and has even met a few ambassadors.

I can never hear the name Geraldine without thinking of Flip Wilson.

Yay for a new baby, but I find it very hard to find much enthusiasm for this family knowing their not that distant history.
