So good to see Philip out and about today.  He's at Windsor with the Queen meeting members of the Order of Merit.

The Queen popped down to the shops to get a few bits...

Liz visited a pop up Sainsbury's store in Covent Garden to celebrate the 150th birthday of the supermarket chain. They recreated one of their first store and also taught her Maj how to use a self service check out, a skill which she's no doubt find super useful.

By the way, headline of the day goes to Reuters:

I agree, it's noticeable around the shoulders and bust. You can see it in the photo from the sausage shop, too.

I've never felt more sorry for the Queen or the  English people.    My heartfelt apologies for what is sure to be an embarrassing situation all the way around.

President Donald Trump is bringing his children, and their spouses, to meet with the Royal family when he makes his state visit to the United Kingdom next month, despite only one of the couples holding officially positions with the administration.

Looking forward to the semiotics of this visit. What will the Queen wear? Who will be invited?

Of course he's bringing the whole damn family. After all, Ivanka has already acknowledged that she lusts for her ``princess moments.''

Megs has gone up in my estimation, she's skipping the lunch and hanging out with Archie  Wink Good for her.  You have to wonder if it would be the same if Obama was stopping by.  My biggest birthday wish is if the Brits shut down the streets and he and his Jed Clampett clan couldn't get from one place to another....JMO sorry totally OT

If it were a Democrat, you bet Meghan would be stepping over dead bodies to get to the State Dinner.

I expect bringing the clan. Of course they would. We Americans in politics love our nepotism.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why is Trump dictating who gets invited to an event in England?

I have no idea. IMO if you are not involved in the administration, and your children and family should not be, ever, then they should not go.

I would not be surprised if previous administrations would have done this had their kids been older.
