And, I'm sorry, none of those church service (e.g., Commonwealth Service) events should count as work. I go to church every week and I don't get paid for it.  Roll Eyes

I’ve just read on instagram (so as reliable as can be) that she’ll attend the service of Comemoration and Thanksgiving that’s held at Westminster Abbey on the 25th of April.

Let's stop pretending. They have resources and they have a duty. We commoners can't choose;they can because  they won't lose their jobs ,they have a choice  ( commoner or royal). We common workers are not even allowed to attend family funerals beyond a second degree or so. That's their job: let them do it.

But as a parent she can't work!

I really don't understand if they keep going on every year about so keen to work and be out there more but they never deliver. Disappearing for weeks at a time isn't cool. I still expect 1-2 events PER WEEK out of her. Sophie works so much more and of course we have Anne and Charles as those the other royals in this family should look up to!

I give her a pass on the school holidays...the Wessex's take off too and they have staff.  But during term time I would like to see 2-3 days each weeks with and average of 2 events each day.  I don't know how long the school year is but I'll us 36 weeks...that would give her 180 engagements...plus stuff like Trooping and Remembrance weekend.  She could probably get to 200 without too much trouble...and have all school breaks off.

For William...4 days a week during term time or 288 engagements.  I'd give all of Christmas and August off (8ish weeks) and only 2 days a week the other 8 weeks the kids have off.  With Trooping and a few extras he'd be over 300 with zero trouble.

I think they find that's too much work.

Term times off, cool! That's fine. But then they continually won't work and claim it's because of their children as if they don't have a huge staff to look after them, their house, and anything else. It's not difficult to leave the house a few hours a day, pretend to be interested, flick your hair and wave.
