I know that some in the BRF have been quite fetishistic about their uniforms, obsessing about every single button, badge and tassel. I wonder if those feelings still carry through today or if some of the younger royals think it's a bit of a bother to have to have so many different fancy uniforms and always to be kitted out properly.  I would suspect that Philip has had some annoyance with this, or is it mitigated by his -- and other members of the BRF's -- love for and loyalty to the military?

I think it was George V who was the big lover of military uniforms. Is there anyone in the present generation who is his equal?

l like the photos but l have to say, as an ex soldier l find it really insulting that these royals get decorations & ranks they haven't really earned.
