ML always seems an easy going and warm person and you feel you'd be able to connect to her without many problems. She is a modern breeze of fresh air without being "pretend young and stilish". I really like her style and I wish she would take MM (who once was very stylish and hip) shopping.

ML said in an interview that as other divorcees she had to spend part of her vacation without the kids, and that they would spend the summer at her summerhouse in Hankø. She said that before the divorce she always felt bad to be away from the kids, but now that she cant always be with them , she enjoys her alone time. My guess is that the kids are with Ari but maybe Maud who is 15 wanted to spend time with Ingrid, they seem very close in all photos we have seen of them together the last years

 ML is such a beauty. Love her dress, too. I love this photo. It shows that a country's most senior royals can be photographed looking like a normal family, wearing normal clothes, with their arms around each other and looking happy to be with there with each other, instead of being preoccupied with royal "image". I'm prepared to totally overlook Harald's black socks with his sandals. |

Several observations:
Maud and MM are competing for the award of the worst dressed and then the king comes in and wins it easily with his socks and sandals. BAAM
The birthday boy has apparently come to terms with whatever it was that bugged him (his strange marriage perhaps) because..boy is looking delicious
Maud and IA: I have always thought Maud was a bit of a strange person, with her very peculiar dress code and attitude, but she has really an extremely lovely face. More so than IA who has this healthy young sporty-beauty going on.
When I looked at so many pictures of the scandinavian royals I have always wondered (jealously) what kind of insect repellent they use, since legs, arms and every piece of skin was blemish free, whereas I remember that you only had to expose the tiniest bit to have an army of mosquitos descend on you. However poor Maud seems to have a ton of bites on her legs and her cousin has some strange blemishes on his arms.
