Haakon at the 50th anniversary of Equinor
https://www.kongehuset.no...?tid=215641&sek=26939

He is going to Iceland on a official visit

Quote
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince will visit Iceland from 12 to 14 October. The Crown Prince will attend the annual Arctic Circle conference in Reykjavik. The Crown Prince's program also includes business with a focus on green solutions, and a visit to the volcanic area Fagradalsfjall together with the President of Iceland.

The Arctic Circle Assembly is the largest annual international gathering where Arctic issues are highlighted and discussed with more than 2,000 participants from over 60 countries. The conference is an important platform for international dialogue and cooperation on the Arctic, and brings together politicians, researchers, academia, business and interest organisations. The Crown Prince will make a speech during the opening of the conference on 13 October.

The Crown Prince's visit to Iceland will mark the good and close neighborly relationship between Norway and Iceland. The Crown Prince and President Jˇhannesson will visit Fagradalsfjall, the area where the last volcanic eruption in Iceland took place. The purpose of the walking tour is to show the natural forces that prevail in Iceland and the need for safety and preparedness adaptations due to frequent volcanic activity.

One aim of the visit is to contribute to increased business cooperation between Norway and Iceland, particularly in the field of green transition. Among other things, the Crown Prince will visit the Hellisheidi geothermal power plant, which uses pioneering technology in carbon capture and storage to reduce emissions from geothermal energy production. The Crown Prince will also meet representatives of Icelandic youth and environmental organisations. The Crown Prince is accompanied by State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eivind Vad Petersson.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon is visiting Kenya together with Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden on November 22-23

https://www.kongehuset.no...tid=215830&sek=112472

The visit is linked to the Crown Prince's role as goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The Crown Prince has been a goodwill ambassador since 2003 and has visited a number of countries in his role as ambassador for the UN. Crown Princess Victoria also has a role as a driving force behind the UN's sustainability goals.

The Crown Prince will also carry out a bilateral program in Nairobi on 24 November. The visit marks the close and good connections between Norway and Kenya. Like Norway, Kenya is concerned with a sustainable marine economy. During the visit, the Crown Prince will, among other things, open an ocean seminar and participate in a business programme. Kenya is the largest economy in East Africa and a natural gateway for Norwegian businesses with an interest in the region. A Norwegian business delegation will participate. The Crown Prince is accompanied by Development Minister Anne Beathe Tvinnereim.

This will be a cool trip - love that Victoria is close to so many rulers of her generation.

Seeing Haakon in his hiking clothes makes me think of something my Norwegian relatives say all the time: no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.  He and Mette-Marit both always look so much better in their outdoor gear. And maybe that's true of a lot of Norwegians. Oslo isn't exactly the fashion capitol of the universe, but but Norwegians sweaters and Norwegian-brand outdoor gear are all highly esteemed.

Every time I've been to Norway, I've always noticed that workers have the brightest-looking safety gear with the most reflective panels, such as Haakon is wearing on his visit to the geothermal plant. Finally it dawned on me: in a part of the world where winters are long and very dark, those big reflective bands are needed more than elsewhere.
