Haakon spoke to the press today at his visit to the Norwegian Refugee Council:

https://www.vg.no/rampely...har-vaert-en-tung-periode

Quote
Crown Prince Haakon: It has been a tough time.

- We try as the best we can to take care of each other in the middle of everything, he says about the past few weeks.

When asked about his former brother-in-law, Ari Behn, the Crown Prince replied that he wished to not go into that much now.

- The important thing for us as a family is to come together and try to take care of each other the best we can. I think it's nice that a lot of people show support, and we feel that we are getting a lot of nice support, and we appreciate that.

The Crown Prince thanked people for thinking of King Harald's health.

- The King is recovering, and we expect him to be back from the hospital again this week, says Haakon, adding that his father is doing "pretty good" under the circumstances.

- He was dizzy and unwell, which is why he was admitted to the hospital in the first place. So then they investigate it there, continuously.

I can understand not wanting to go into detail, especially on multiple issues.  I feel sorry for him.

It has been a hard time ... he is in a difficult situation - he is the uncle to three very upset girls, he is the husband to a sick woman, his parents are getting on in years, he has to do a job. There are a lot of emotions there.

I think that he could take IA with him in such an event. It would be nice chance for her to do something even more official than usual.

He's doing a great job.  He needs to get some sleep, though.  Take care of you too, Haakon.

Brilliant suggestion, Onar.  Champagne. So much has happened in the NRF in such a short period. They have responded with such dignity.

He bears up with fortitude. Here is a  Hug Hug Hug for Haakon.

Indeed, this would've been a good chance for her to be introduced her royal duties.

Still I think IA is a very responsible young lady. She must know that with her grandfather and her mother ill, work will come to her sooner than originally expected.

Haakon's taken her to events in the past, and she did really well.  She's in the bloom of youth right now, and she has the right to enjoy it.  I think Haakon wants to give her as much time as possible.  She'll be so much stronger for it later.

In Ingrid biography on the homepage it now says:

"As the Princess grows older, she will carry out more and more official engagements on behalf of the Royal Family."

This is rather new I think, and I found a bit strange/unexpected, I did not expect her to do much official before she finnished school and university (and hopefully a period in the military, would be a great example if she entered for real and not just special courses and visits like Victoria) But I guess it is a realisatsion that in a few years there wont be many royal hands at work in Norway..
