I am fascinated to know what these two talk about when they're alone together.  I think Sofia was a great asset to JC following the restoration of the monarchy, but they strike me more as a good political partnership rather than husband and wife.  I've never sensed any true love or romance between them.

Ironically, the commentator said, "... joined together two royal houses united and two happy people deeply in love."

...until he cheated on her several times.  Ahhhh, love.   Whistle

And until one of the Royal Houses got kicked out of the country and is not a ruling Royal house anymore, yes, I can sense a lot of irony in his words Tongue .

Pixie, young Tino used to serve as his bil's pimp..? Laughing Never heard that before, too funny!

Yep, I've heard that same thing.  It's bad enough that he cheats on his own wife (and I actually like AM very much), but what sort of person helps their sister's husband cheat on her? Blink

Isn't that a kind of rite within the Greek-Orthodox church?

In all orthodox churches the groom and bride wear crowns in one form or another. In Romanian the word “wedding” is “cununie” which means crowning. And the wording of the ceremony is something like “(name) is crowned with (name)” and it’s the very moment that they are getting married. I’m always impressed, but I’m known to cry at weddings.

They actually had three ceremonies:

1. Roman Catholic - at 10.00 am in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Dionysius the Areopagite.
2. Orthodox - at 12.00 noon in Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens
3. Civil after the two church services as the Royal Palace.

Yikes!  That’s a lot of promises and vows for JC to ignore in the future.
