I seriously doubt any kind of police work has been derailed by Marius but whole situation is obviously absurd. The son - essentially - of the future king and queen of Norway is involved in drug use in a serious degree which H&MM must have been informed about because the police knew. That is beyond criticism of them.

The police has confirmed they have had preventive conversations about with Høiby, which they do have with many people, especially young people before it is to late, like it obiously has been in this case. That he has harassed the woman so that the police found it necessary to have a restraining order shows his words that he was sorry how this affected his family means nothing. The police regularly conduct preventive interviews with individuals who may be/are in a criminal environment. The talks are an early preventive measure.
This is what the head of the Oslo police district, Frode Larsen, told NRK.
The police considered that it was appropriate to conduct such a conversation with Høiby, he says.
- It was also deemed necessary because the police have an extended responsibility for the security of the Royal House and members of the royal family. The police do not want to go into specific assessments about the reason for the conversation or its content, he says.
Aftenposten was the first to confirm this information.
John Christian Elden is the legal aid to Nora Haukland, who is one of Høiby's ex-girlfriends. He is suspected of intimate partner violence against her in an investigative case.
Elden says that the police's talks with Høiby are positive.
- It's good, and something they should have with more people to help prevent them from entering criminal paths. The CP couple will meet the press during their county visit today, it will be the first time his mother talks to the press after it happened

So the police admit that they told Marius they were watching him and they knew about his criminal activity, effectively blowing their own cover. They also admit that they handled him differently than they would others because of who he is. No wonder he's turned into an out of control hooligan, everyone has been covering for him.
I can believe that by protecting him the police have involuntarily had to protect others who were involved with Marius in criminal activity. I hope the police are investigated for favoritism and mishandling a criminal investigation. At what point does the government get involved?

ANDREW DENTON: Yes. What did... When you first met, what did you see in each other? CROWN PRINCE FREDERIK: What did we see in each other? We saw... Well, it's a bit hard. It's a bit blurry, in a way, because it was just after the Olympics had started and it was one of those evenings where...

https://www.nu.nl/achterk...ses-opnieuw-opgepakt.htmlLoosely translated as: Son of Norwegian Crown Princess arrested again
By our entertainment editors 14 Sep 2024 at 14:38 Update: 1 day ago
The Norwegian police have arrested Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, again. He is said to have violated a restraining order. The 27-year-old Borg Høiby was arrested in early August after an incident in an apartment in Oslo. He is said to have assaulted a woman with whom he was in a relationship. He is said to have destroyed items in her apartment and caused her physical harm. He is also suspected of making threats.
The stepson of Crown Prince Haakon pleaded guilty in this case and was given a restraining order against the victim. He is said to have now broken that. Two other exes of Borg Høiby were also questioned during the case. They also accused him of psychological and physical violence.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit had Borg Høiby during a previous relationship. In 2001, she married Crown Prince Haakon. Mette-Marit and Haakon have two children together: Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20) and Prince Sverre Magnus (18). Borg Høiby is not an official member of the Norwegian royal family and has no public role.
According to his lawyer, Borg Høiby is not guilty of violating the contact ban. He stated this to NRK.

Almost? Try definitely. She has proven she doesn't deserve to be there.

Personally, I don't think it's right to hold Mette-Marit responsible for her son's mental illness. Marius has obviously been on the road to self-destruction and unfortunately he's mentally and physically harmed others along the way. But I suspect that, for years now, Mette-Marit has lived in fear that he would overdose. She probably really understands the desperation and therefore might have something to contribute to the conversation regarding mental health.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think she has any business turning up at events regarding domestic abuse or drug trafficking, because she has failed to protect those poor young women, and used her position to cover up Marius' criminal activities. But I see the mental health aspect as a separate factor to this trainwreck.

She is not responsible but she has enabled his behaviour for YEARS, and she is responsible for that.

And the destruction her son inflicted on the mental health of his victims. She's really tone deaf or disgusting....I'll go with both. Never ever should she be there cosplaying someone that cares when we all know she's been a part of destroying those young womens lives.
