I like most of Sonja's outfits and I like a lot that she's not stuck to the "old lady" style  Yes She dresses a lot younger than her counterparts and there's no doubt her body does not change through the years  Yes Sonja is a classy lady and it shows as she's aging gracefully but without PS (she was always a beauty to start with)  Yes

Just heard some clips from King Harald's very sweet an inclusive speech. Not that I'm naming names, but a U.S. presidential candidate could learn a few things from the king.

WOW!  Those outfits looked just as good as far back as 1999 as they do today.  Thanks for your excellent memory principessa.  I love it when I see someone wearing something they've owned for years and they STILL look amazing.  She wears hats well also, I would love a couple of hats like the ones she is wearing with the cream and grey striped suit.

Thanks for the compliment. One outfit is even going back as 1997.

What I don't like is that they hardly get any coverage and appreciation -the SRF (has Silvia had a face life, was grumpy cheating again) and the DRF (what is the dames latest tantrum) receive far more (negative) headlines.

At times I feel that it is not appreciated that they did a fantastic job: they raised two nice children (who had an odd choice of partners  Whistle), they are doing their job always without much fuss and really well (see Harald's speach), they seem to be genuinely happy with each other and the live without the big theatratical events (that the DRF loves). Sonja seems to be totally and genuinely happy with herself and she is aging gracefully, but without being matronly.

I think they are perfect role-models. Sorry. Speech ended.  Blush

I think maybe the King and Queen like it that way. There's a strong cultural value in Norway about not pushing yourself to the front of things, but quietly and modestly doing your job and living your life.
