King Harald has covid, with light symptoms according to the Court. the press is going bananas with extra news bulletins....
He will be on sick leave for some days and Haakon will take over his consitutional duties.

Oh no! I'm sure he'll bounce back but of course for someone of his age it is a worry. I'm sure he is getting amazing care. What a shame he likely will have to miss the Duke of Edinburgh's memorial service.

I was going to ask who stands in as Regent if Harald and Haakon are out of the country, then I remembered that Ingrid Alexandra isn't a child anymore!

In Norway only the crown prince(ss) is regent. Ingrid wont act as regent until Haakon is king and she has signed the oath to Stortinget

Both the king and crown prince can be abroad unlike in Denmark, but they go to great length to be in Oslo every friday for state council, but the goverment can have it without them, but it is very very rare.

Really sorry the king and queen weren't able to go to the memorial for Phil. And I guess it would have been inappropriate to send Haakon and MM to represent them because this memorial was all about actual personal relationships.

King Harald had to return from his easter break to host a extraordinary state council today after the minister of deffence Odd Roger Enoksen has had to resign after a metoo case.

New minsters were appointed today and the king also had a meeting with the PM who has not had a lucky start with his cabinett
