Can I just say that I am happy Georgie finally found a woman who would have him. I never thought I'd live to see that day.

As for the Grand Duchess, she can go jump in a lake, her son has already done the impossible, she should be grateful for the prospect of grandchildren.

I saw speculation on twitter that she’s been negotiating with the church that the Pauline law (?) will be dropped so the line can continue. I must admit it would make for a potentially very interesting royal-ish wedding..

Oh, isn't that rich? She's spent decades ripping the wider Romanov family apart with her judgmental (and hypocritical) hauteur about equal marriages under Pauline Law. I'll bet her surviving cousins that she shat on all these years are giggling amongst themselves. What a sham of a woman she is.

The whole Royal" thing is delusional ... as are all those in Europe with Prince/Princess titles .....I'd give a "pass" to those born of families who have not been tossed out ..... but to the Greeks and Germans and Italians and French and Portuguese etc who announce that a child recently born is a Prince or Princess is just .... latest is the Hannovers - Really ?

just thinking if things turned out differently, George would now be Crown Prince of Ireland.
Some of our Republican leaders wanted to name his great grandfather King of Ireland during the 1916 Rebellion. Crazy

Her son Louis Mountbatten later surprised his Russian (Soviet) hosts by pointing out the rooms he had slept in as a child.

Quite a few times. He also had a crush on his cousin, Grand Duchess Maria.

Curiously the last time they saw eachother was early before the war. Victoria left her jewels with her sister Alexandra, for safekeeping, because she thought they would be more protected there, before returning to England. If only she'd knew.
